Background / History

Meeting Chen Mo

Meng first meets Chen Mo at the academy library, where his first-year borrowing privileges prevent him from checking out advanced soul-tool materials. She registers the books under her own token, allowing him to continue his studies. Already familiar with his record-setting Level 1 Soul Engineer assessment, she becomes curious about his teacher, whom he identifies as “Golden Toad” 17.

At home, she questions Jing Hongchen about the supposed teacher and defends Chen Mo’s honesty. Her warm description of Chen attracts her grandfather’s attention.
