Tetsuya sheltered the surviving Uchiha, revealed Black Zetsu’s threat, and arranged for Sasuke to train under Orochimaru. Meanwhile, Naruto graduated after Mizuki’s scheme, and Sasuke returned to the Land of Grass after learning that reviving his clan required more than Impure World Reincarnation.

• Itachi escaped after admitting responsibility for the Uchiha massacre, while Tetsuya took Shisui back to Tobirama and Izuna brought the Rinnegan and surviving Uchiha to the Land of Grass.
• Izuna gathered the Uchiha remains and survivors, and Tetsuya settled them in the Capital while Sasuke became their heir and learned that he might resurrect his family.
• Tetsuya warned Izuna that Black Zetsu had manipulated Madara and planned to use Obito to release Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, while the Uchiha concealed their identity in the Land of Grass.
• Tetsuya arranged for Orochimaru to train Sasuke and teach him Impure World Reincarnation, while Orochimaru examined Shisui’s Sharingan and agreed to take Sasuke as his student.
• Tetsuya brought Rin back into his life as Nohara Himawari, introduced her to Neji as his senior disciple, and taught both disciples the Tai Chi Breathing Method.
• Mizuki persuaded Naruto to steal the Scroll of Seals, but Iruka protected him from Mizuki, Naruto defeated Mizuki with Multiple Shadow Clones, and Iruka gave Naruto his forehead protector.
• Hiruzen assigned Kakashi to lead Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata as a team, while Tetsuya agreed to support Gato’s Land of Waves in joining the Commercial Alliance.
• After Sasuke attacked Orochimaru over the limits of Impure World Reincarnation, Tetsuya explained that it was only a step toward true resurrection and kept Sasuke in the Land of Grass until he chose a punishment.

Tetsuya intervened in the Land of Waves, revived Zabuza and Haku, and built a Grass team around them and Sasuke. As the joint Chunin Exams began, he prepared for Orochimaru’s planned attack while Sasuke’s team entered the Forest of Death.

• Tetsuya used Gato’s request to gain influence in the Land of Waves while Team 7 faced Zabuza and Haku during Tazuna’s escort mission.
• Sasuke shattered Haku’s ice mirrors and fought him, but Haku later took Kakashi’s Lightning Blade to save Zabuza.
• Tetsuya revived Zabuza and Haku, recruited them to his cause, and made Zabuza the leader of a team that included Haku and Sasuke.
• Tetsuya arranged for Sasuke to join the joint Chunin Exams and introduced Karin as the team’s final member.
• Tetsuya warned his allies about Orochimaru’s Konoha Crush Plan and helped prepare teams for the exams, while Sasuke revealed his Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
• Tetsuya met Yahiko, Konan, and Neji, warned them about Orochimaru’s plan, and asked Rin to watch over Naruto.
• Sasuke, Haku, and Karin passed the written exam and entered the Forest of Death, where they set out to obtain an Earth Scroll.

Sasuke, Haku, and Karin survived Danzo’s attempt to capture them, while Naruto trained for the finals and faced Neji. The exams were interrupted by Orochimaru’s invasion, which left Hiruzen fighting reanimated Hashirama and Minato as Jiraiya moved to stop the assault on Konoha.

• Sasuke, Haku, and Karin killed three of Danzo’s five Root ninja before Tenzo and Hiruzen arrived, and Hiruzen promised compensation while apologizing to Sasuke for the Uchiha Clan’s destruction.
• Tetsuya tortured Danzo with the Strongman Appraisal Technique, took the Sharingan from Danzo’s arm for Sasuke, and used Kotoamatsukami to keep Danzo from exposing their connection.
• Sasuke, Haku, and Karin passed the Forest of Death exam, and Sasuke defeated his preliminary opponent as the three Grass genin impressed Konoha’s leaders.
• Neji defeated Hinata, Naruto defeated a Kumogakure genin, and Gaara defeated Rock Lee after Lee opened the Eight Gates and used the Reverse Lotus.
• Naruto trained with Rin Nohara, learned Rasengan from her, and then trained with Jiraiya, who discovered that she also knew Minato’s Flying Thunder God Technique.
• Neji defeated Naruto in the final round, after which Sasuke faced Gaara as Sound Ninja put the spectators under genjutsu and Orochimaru revealed himself while taking Hiruzen hostage.
• Orochimaru summoned Hashirama and Minato through Impure World Reincarnation, controlled them with talismans, and sent them against Hiruzen inside the Four Violet Flames Formation.
• Tetsuya told Tobirama he planned to resurrect Hashirama after Madara, while Jiraiya summoned a giant toad that crushed the Three-Headed Snake and moved to stop Sunagakure’s assault.

After Hiruzen’s death, Tsunade became Hokage and began reforming Konoha. Tetsuya revived Madara, helped defeat Urashiki in the past, and left Neji with Urashiki’s Karma as the story returned to Naruto’s era.

• Hiruzen sacrificed himself with the Reaper Death Seal, taking the reanimated Hokage and a snake in Orochimaru’s place before Jiraiya arrived.
• Jiraiya refused the Hokage position and brought Tsunade back, where she won the election and became the Fifth Hokage.
• Tsunade dissolved the Elder Council and began restructuring Konoha’s leadership with clan representatives.
• Tetsuya revived Madara, then tested his strength against him in a fierce battle that ended with Madara acknowledging Tetsuya’s superiority.
• Sasuke and Boruto traveled to the past and joined Tetsuya, Madara, and Izuna in confronting Urashiki, who was targeting young Naruto.
• Madara defeated Urashiki, but Urashiki placed Karma on Neji before his golden Rinnegan exploded, and Neji resolved to control the power.
• Sasuke and Boruto returned to their era, while Tetsuya left Neji with the Karma and prepared for the next stage of his plans.
• Naruto learned he had passed the Chunin assessment and received his Chunin vest and ninja tool pouch.
