From the moment the battle began, it entered its fiercest stage. The Burning Legion's demonic army seemed endless. Whenever one demon died, another immediately rushed forward to take its place, charging fiercely at the defensive line, determined not to stop until it fell.
For the Horde, this was a battle they could not afford to lose. Defeat would mean the destruction of the entire world. Other races might not fully understand that, but the Orcs understood it all too well. The Draenei, whom the Orcs had once brutalized, had themselves been defeated by the Burning Legion and hunted from world to world, living like homeless dogs in constant fear. No one wanted that fate for themselves. Most importantly, the Draenei had ships in which they could escape, while the Horde had none. They could not flee. Defeat meant death.
How could the races of the Horde not fight for their lives?
Rex felt the soft body in his arms beginning to struggle free and tightened his embrace. Breathing in the fragrance of the beauty he held, he met the gaze of her lovely eyes. Her alluring expression prompted him to lean straight down and kiss Jaina.
Rex's behavior was completely out of character. Jaina froze, staring at him blankly with her beautiful eyes. She had never expected him to do this. They had known each other for years, and throughout that time, Rex had always struck her as courteous and well-mannered. She had never seen him do anything so outrageous, nor had she even heard of it.
Anyone would have been astonished by an act that so thoroughly overturned his
