Standing on the sandy shore and gazing into the distance, he saw only a vast expanse of white. Sea and sky merged into one, until it was impossible to tell where the water ended and the heavens began. In the radiant sunlight, the distant sea looked like countless fish scales spread across the surface, or mischievous children leaping endlessly toward the shore.

The tide rose, and waves rolled toward the shore one after another. Some swelled like little tumbling hills; others crashed against the coastal reefs, throwing spray several meters into the air with a rushing roar.

The sea brimmed with water beneath the setting sun. Waves danced like playful children, and golden light covered the surface.

Looking out over the sea before him, Rex felt his heart open. His gloomy mood brightened almost despite himself, and he drew a deep breath. Surging white waves rolled in from the horizon, their silvery crests chasing and pushing one another. They drew steadily closer, rising higher and roaring louder, until they charged in like a vast army bearing the thunderous din of battle.

Layer upon layer of waves spread into the distance and slowly subsided, as though pausing for breath, leaving fleeting foam and the musty, briny smell of swaying seaweed.

A clear voice rang out behind him. "Rex, is Neptulon the Tidehunter here?"

Rex turned to look. The speaker was covered in armor from head to toe, her helmet concealing her features. Even so, one thing was clear: she was a woman. Her armor was a size smaller than the others', not only making her look more petite but also fitting closely enough to reveal her slender figure. This was Sylvanas.
