Tidehunter Neptulon had a body formed from condensed elements, and he also possessed a core. Unlike ordinary elementals, however, Tidehunter Neptulon was an Elemental Lord, which naturally made him very different from them.
His body was gradually transforming into flesh and blood. If Tidehunter Neptulon could advance another step, rising from an Elemental Lord to an Elemental King, he would truly gain a body of his own.
This was the goal the Four Elemental Lords had always striven toward.
An elemental body might possess the trait of immortality-even if Tidehunter Neptulon was destroyed, as long as water elements remained in the world, he could one day be reborn. The only difference was how severe the damage from his destruction had been, which determined how long his revival would take.
Immortality was wonderful, but the Elemental Lords still sought true bodies of flesh and blood, hoping to cast off their current identities.
What was the fundamental reason? There was one simple point: unlike a flesh-and-blood body, an elemental body did not possess all five senses. Its senses were incomplete.
They could not live carefree lives of eating, drinking, and pleasure, enjoying fine food and wine as their human and dwarven servants did. No matter how delicious the food or wine that passed through their mouths, they could taste nothing. Being born without a sense of taste deprived them of one great pleasure, while another, even more wonderful experience was an even greater luxury for the Elemental Lords-something utterly beyond their reach.
Thus, every Elemental Lord was either irritable or bloodthirsty. To put it simply, they were all somewhat abnormal.
