There were only a few days left until Kassel College officially began, and the campus was steeped in the brief calm before the storm.
Amon and Lu Mingfei sat side by side on an old bench deep in the garden, their backs against an ivy-covered stone wall, enjoying this rare, idle afternoon.
Before them lay a scene like an oil painting. The neatly trimmed green lawn stretched ahead like a vast velvet carpet; a crimson cobblestone path wound across it, gleaming warmly in the sunlight; in the distance, castle-like buildings stood beneath the blue sky, their spires seeming to pierce the clouds.
The gentle sunlight poured down generously, gilding this ancient, secret-filled college with a lazy golden edge.
Lu Mingfei stared at the church clock tower ahead, watching flocks of pigeons circle and descend, his gaze slightly unfocused.
Although he had accepted the existence of Dragon Kind, he was still deeply confused about his future studies.
What exactly would Kassel College, a dragon-slaying institution bearing the name of a university, teach?
Would they be like Harry Potter, waving wands to develop the power of Spirit Words?
Or would they train in hand-to-hand combat and firearms like a military academy?
There was some anticipation, but even more nervousness and worry.
"Senior, my academic grades are a complete disaster, and my physical fitness is always dead last... Do you think I can scrape through to graduation?" Lu Mingfei could already imagine his precarious future.
He would probably have it even worse than Finn, who struggled on the verge of having to retake credits...
Maybe he could even break Finn's record for the lowest rating, dropping all the way from S to E.
"Things will work themselves out when the time comes," Amon said indistinctly from beside him. He had a Coke-flavored lollipop
