In a cheap motel room, Su Enxi sat cross-legged on a slightly messy bed, wearing an oversized T-shirt printed with white lettering. A video call window glowed on the laptop in front of her.
She scratched at her somewhat disheveled hair, forgetting even to chew the potato chip in her mouth as she stared fixedly at the brief report Zero had sent about Lu Mingfei's performance during Freedom Day.
"Taking out half a Lionheart Society squad by himself? Commanding the Student Union? Blowing Chu Zihang away with one shot? And personally pulling the flag at the end?!"
Her voice rang especially loudly in the cramped room.
"What kind of international joke is this?! Is this the Little White Rabbit I know? Where did that Lu Mingfei who was so cowardly he wanted to shrink into a crack in the ground go? Was he possessed by something?"
In the video window, Zero's face remained as expressionless as ever, like the frozen earth of Siberia. She simply waited quietly for Su Enxi to process the unbelievable report.
Just then, another video window popped up. Mai Sakatoku's dashing, captivating face appeared on the screen, with what seemed to be an elegantly furnished room behind her.
"It's Little Black Rabbit," Mai Sakatoku said softly. "Obviously, Little Black Rabbit is the one leading our Little White Rabbit around... He's the real one calling the shots."
She paused, her slender fingers lightly tapping her chin as genuine confusion showed in her expression.
"But Little Black Rabbit's actions confuse me. He seems to be a follower of Fenrir and Jormungandr, yet his performance at Kassel this time makes it seem like he's helping Angers polish the S-rank student he favors... I'm starting to suspect he works for Angers."
"A follower? Are you sure?" Su Enxi finally swallowed
