A peculiar scent permeated the great hall, like the astringent fragrance of grass and wood tinged with blood.

"Separated, huh..." Mu Chen muttered. He cautiously surveyed his surroundings, and only after finding no danger did he turn his gaze forward.

He raised his head slightly. At the far end of the hall stood a hundred-foot wooden statue, clad in dark green armor covered in ancient patterns.

The statue held a Wood Stele in its hand, faint runes flowing across its surface and giving it an especially mystical air.

He recognized at once that both the armor and the Wood Stele were valuable treasures. But the enormous statue gave him pause.

Treasures were rarely so easy to obtain. In ancient ruins like this, the places where treasures were stored usually had some sort of defensive mechanism. Mu Chen suspected that the massive statue was this place's guardian.
