Just before touching the ground, it spread its wings again to slow its descent. Its sharp talons pierced the body of a brown Great Serpent basking on a rock, carrying it into the sky.
Fine cracks silently appeared in the sky. The flying eagle was caught unprepared and crashed headlong into them. Together with the prey it had just caught, it was torn to pieces, leaving only a few feathers drifting slowly down.
