Background / History

Tribulation and rescue

The Little Beast Emperor was subjected to continual lightning tribulations from the moment its spiritual intelligence awakened. Trapped inside an ancient formation, it endured daily bombardment for tens of thousands of years until its mind and spirit were nearly shattered. Lin Tian initially avoided the beast, suspecting that involvement might entangle him with the Heavenly Dao 10 11 31.

After Lin Tian absorbed the surrounding lightning and obtained a thunder origin, the formation redirected a renewed barrage toward his vines. He devoured the lightning, shattered the formation with spatial power, and caught the exhausted beast in a soft vine hammock. Several months later, it awakened with profound gratitude toward him 11.

Lin Tian named it Beast Emperor, predicted that its achievements could rival Shen Ni’s, and invited it to travel with him. It enthusiastically accepted, becoming his first companion in the Primordial World 12.

Golden-Strike Divine Wood

Following their separate cultivation retreats, the beast sensed an unusually distant disturbance and led Lin Tian south for several hundred years. Their destination was the Golden-Strike Divine Wood, a rare material capable of producing a supreme houtian spiritual treasure 18 19.

The discovery brought them into conflict with the Heaven-and-Earth Ancestor’s avatar, who coveted the beast as a mount and intended to erase its sentience. The beast attacked alongside Lin Tian, though the avatar’s flight prohibition and Heaven-and-Earth Ruler checked its assault 20 21.

After the avatar’s defeat, Lin Tian awarded the divine wood to the beast. He retained it in his own Purple Mansion because lingering tribulation lightning made the beast’s inner space unsafe for the gift. The pair fled the attention of the avatar’s true body, the Heaven-and-Earth Demon God, and eventually entered secluded cultivation 23 24.

Eastern Continent campaign

On their westward journey toward Mount Buzhou, the beast carried Lin Tian through the Eastern Continent. They pursued the Six-Headed Demon Phoenix after it tried to seize Lin Tian’s Three Lights Divine Water and enslave them. Following its surrender, the phoenix became their guide to the region’s other Fierce Beasts 31 32.

Lin Tian challenged the Little Beast Emperor to compete in subduing the remaining beasts, with leadership of the resulting force as the prize. Over the ensuing campaign, the beast acquired more than fifty followers ranked outside the alliance’s top ten and also forced the Nine-Headed Demon Phoenix into submission 36.

When Ghost Chariot joined the party, the Little Beast Emperor eagerly obtained Lin Tian’s permission to ride with him rather than continue serving as the mount 38.

Identity revelation and Mount Buzhou

In the Central Continent, Lin Tian supplied the beast with a formation to stabilize its Dao heart. Its subsequent breakthrough produced the twelve-millstone Post-Heavenly Earthly Branch Slaying Formation. While absorbing an uncontrolled release of that power, Lin Tian received system notifications identifying World-Destroying Millstone origin power 40 41 42.

Those notifications and the mark between the beast’s brows convinced Lin Tian that his companion was an incarnation of the World-Destroying Millstone—an innate supreme treasure counted among the Four Great Treasures of the Primordial World and described as a treasure that should have belonged to Shen Ni. Lin Tian kept his realization to himself 42.

The trio then climbed Mount Buzhou, using its pressure to temper their bodies. At the halfway platform, Lin Tian assigned the beast and Ghost Chariot one ancient innate formation each to refine. When a surviving Chaos Demon God appeared during the formations’ collapse, Lin Tian sheltered both companions within his Myriad Heavens World, preventing the enemy from copying them 43 45 46 48.

The Little Beast Emperor changes from a tiny, adorably fierce creature into a robust, twelve-zhang beast with exposed fangs and an imposing bearing 11 30 39.

Personality

Its pride is equally pronounced. Since receiving the name Beast Emperor, it regards itself as standing beneath “one vine” and above everything else. It mocks servility and rejects the idea that lineage or seniority alone should determine status, particularly when Ghost Chariot praises the Qilin Clan 33 43.

Impatience can make it reckless. After waiting thousands of years for Ghost Chariot on Mount Buzhou, it kicks him off the halfway platform. It later apologizes by rubbing its head against him.
