Little Wolf was only a cub that had been born not long ago. In a daze, he was carried out of that tiny cave by Hoshi.
Hoshi got along quite well with Little Wolf. Hoshi's grilled meat completely conquered the foodie wolf, and within just a few days, man and wolf had developed a pretty good bond.
Hoshi even gave him the name Robb, after Wolf King Lobo from Seton Animal Stories, hoping that he too would grow into a wolf king whose might shook the Ninja World.
Over the next few days, Robb also remembered his name. Whenever Hoshi called it twice, he would come running over with a howl and rub against Hoshi's leg, waiting for delicious grilled meat.
The sight made Hoshi seriously doubt Robb's future. He deeply suspected that he might end up raising him into something like a husky.
Torikaze Squad stayed in the Land of Rice Fields for several days, partly to take care of Robb and partly to prove to the Daimyo that the so-called monster had indeed been dealt with.
Torikaze was also having a wonderful time there. Having resolved the urban legend, he became a great hero who had saved the nation in the eyes of the Daimyo of the Land of Rice Fields. Every day, the Daimyo came up with new ways to have the royal chefs prepare food for Torikaze, and after just a few days, Torikaze's body had grown more than a full size rounder.
While Hoshi and the others were staying in the Land of Rice Fields, Konoha welcomed a major event: Cloud Village's delegation seeking peace had arrived in Konoha.
