Arc 5The Sword Champion Returns

Hoshi won the Land of Iron tournament, trained under Yamajun, and returned to Konoha with Fiona before breaking the curse that sealed his chakra. After reuniting with his friends, he rejected Danzo’s recruitment attempt as Madara considered exploiting the coming destruction of the Land of Whirlpools.

Arc 6The Fall of Uzushio

Hoshi helped rescue the Uzumaki Clan from the Four Great Ninja Villages’ invasion and helped secure their relocation to Konoha. After Kushina became the Nine-Tails’ new host, Hoshi tested a powerful sword technique and encountered Uchiha Hokushin at the Ninja Academy.

  • The Four Great Ninja Villages invaded the Land of Whirlpools, and Uzumaki Ashina sent Masahiko and Kushina to seek help as Hoshi and his friends set out from Konoha.

Arc 8Hoshi’s Victory and New Ties

Hayate Hoshi and his allies defeated Iwagakure’s ambush force and forced Hanzō to accept negotiations with Konoha. Back in the village, Hoshi considered taking Uchiha Kagetsu as a student, then sparred with Hiruzen to advance his swordsmanship.

  • Hoshi rescued Tsunade from Kinoshita Eien and killed all thirty-seven Stone Hidden ninjas pursuing her, then Tsunade kissed him before Ibuse interrupted their river stop.
  • Hoshi returned to the front as Ōnoki identified him as a threat, while Hoshi resisted Danzō’s orders and strengthened his own authority among the troops.
  • Tsunade completed her antidote, and Hoshi led Konoha’s forces into battle against Hanzō, whose poison mist and attacks the four leaders and their summons countered.
