As the yellow phantom slipped into him, Liu Xing felt as though another consciousness had suddenly appeared inside his body, making his mind swell as if it would split apart.
At the same time, Liu Xing sensed this invading consciousness constantly transmitting a signal to him: So hungry... so hungry... so hungry...
This consciousness clearly came from the yellow phantom. Fortunately, although it had invaded Liu Xing's body, it was not violent and left his own consciousness entirely untouched, as though the two could coexist peacefully.
Liu Xing's discomfort came entirely from never having experienced the sensation of another consciousness suddenly appearing in his mind, especially one that kept transmitting signals he could not fully understand.
If Liu Xing's body were a container, then the yellow phantom had entered an enclosed space when it slipped inside him. It began darting wildly up and down, forward and backward, left and right, roaming through his entire body in almost an instant.
Liu Xing vaguely felt that the yellow phantom was searching for something, perhaps the cluster of golden spiritual energy that had entered his body, or perhaps something else. Moreover, although the yellow phantom seemed to be darting about at random, its movements appeared to follow a particular pattern.
Liu Xing had no experience with internal cultivation. Otherwise, he would certainly have been astonished to discover that the yellow phantom's route through his body overlapped perfectly with all his meridians.
At first, the signal the yellow phantom transmitted to Liu Xing seemed to mean "So hungry," but as it traveled through his body, its signals grew increasingly joyful. By the end, Liu Xing could almost hear the yellow phantom cheering inside him: "This feels wonderful! It's so spacious!"
Why had this strange consciousness appeared after the yellow phantom slipped into his body? And would this transformation have any harmful effects on him?
The yellow phantom seemed to sense Liu Xing's thoughts. After sending him a signal that meant "Rest assured," it gradually quieted down, finally settling in his lower abdomen and falling into a deep sleep.
Liu Xing did not know whether to laugh or cry. What on earth was going on?
After all the yellow phantom's commotion, Liu Xing did feel that something inside his body had changed.
It was as though a pair of eyes had grown inside Liu Xing's body, allowing him to see his flesh and blood with perfect clarity. Even the growth, division, and death of every tiny cell lay exposed, with nothing able to escape his sight.
Liu Xing did not know that this was the art of inner sight, which cultivators could only perform after reaching a certain realm. Through inner sight, cultivators could detect minute changes within their bodies and thereby gain insight into the Heavenly Dao. The higher their realm, the clearer and more detailed their inner sight became.
After the yellow phantom entered Liu Xing's body, the additional consciousness naturally served as a pair of eyes for inner sight. Thus, despite having no cultivation experience at all, Liu Xing's inner sight surpassed that of the vast majority of cultivators in the world in clarity.
As the yellow phantom fell asleep, the inner sight Liu Xing experienced gradually weakened. It was as though his body had been filled with lit lamps that were now going out one by one, until everything returned to darkness.
Although he had lost his inner sight, the sensation remained in Liu Xing's heart. For the first time, beyond his external training, he experienced how there truly were pathways within his body that could be followed.
This finally made Liu Xing understand that the human body's greatest secrets had always lain within. However strong his muscles and bones became through external training, he was merely skimming the surface, without touching the essence of the body's true power.
Liu Xing loved the feeling of being powerful, and now he understood more clearly that to become even stronger, he had to take the path of internal cultivation. The problem was, how could he cultivate without an innate spiritual root? Was there truly no path of cultivation suited to him?
Gradually, Liu Xing sank into deep thought. Although he knew no cultivation techniques, he unknowingly sat cross-legged and entered a state in which he forgot both himself and the world.
He did not know how much time had passed. Through the haze, Liu Xing merely felt a faint silver glow appear in his lower abdomen, slowly beginning to spin like a silver vortex.
As it spun, the silver vortex slowly released strands of silver thread in every direction, as though using heaven and earth as its frame to weave an enormous silver net.
The silver threads stretched farther and farther, and the weave grew ever denser. Each thread seemed to carry Liu Xing's divine sense, allowing him to take in everything in the world within their reach. Even a tiny wild grass seed sending out a tender shoot beneath thick soil could not escape their detection.
An immense flood of information poured into Liu Xing all at once. He had never imagined he could take in so much information simultaneously.
Could this strange phenomenon have arisen because of the yellow phantom's invasion?
Before he knew it, the enormous net woven from silver threads had encompassed the entire Frozen Earth Plains. Liu Xing even wondered whether, if this continued, the silver net woven from divine sense might envelop all of Connors Star.
In his present state, it was as though Liu Xing's divine sense could scan everything within the silver threads' reach. However, whether this extraordinarily powerful divine sense came from Liu Xing or the yellow phantom was difficult to say.
The silver threads gradually penetrated Zenith Volcano, bringing even this most violent region of Connors Star entirely into Liu Xing's divine sense.
Suddenly, the tip of a silver thread seemed to touch something. The entire net woven from silver threads began to tremble violently, and all the divine sense scattered across the threads swiftly converged, like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea.
The strands of silver thread retracted along with the divine sense. Finally, all the threads gathered together and transformed into a silver bolt of lightning, cleaving through the waves in the sea of divine sense. In the blink of an eye, it charged into Zenith Volcano and stopped where the silver thread had first halted.
