Huanglin was Four-Unlike's elder brother and the eldest son of the Primordial Qilin. He had met Gungun at the Sea of Blood in his early years. Later, when Mount Buzhou collapsed, heaven and earth shattered, and endless waters from the Heavenly River poured onto the land, he had stepped forward alongside Gungun, Ao Yue, and the other Sacred Beasts to save the world. Afterward, his merit had earned him the status of a Sacred Beast, charged with guarding the far reaches of the Central Land.

Our Buddhist disciples suffered grievous losses, and all living beings throughout the Primordial World are terrified."
"I know everything you have said. Unfortunately, heaven favors the Demon Dao at present, and Wutian's fortune is immense. Even we Sacred Beasts cannot eliminate him," Huanglin said.
"I understand. I would not presume to trouble you to act, Holy Venerable. But before Wutian attacked Spirit Mountain, the Buddha Lord summoned me and told me that, thirty-three years later, when the Demon Dao's fortune waned, we could destroy Wutian using the seventeen Sariras of the Ancestor of Ten Thousand Buddhas. The Buddha Lord also instructed me to visit you after escorting the monks to the Ten Thousand Great Mountains. So I wish to ask, Holy Venerable: do you know where those seventeen Sariras are?"
