When Konan heard Shin Uchiha's words, she raised her head and looked at him.

Seeing her reaction, Shin Uchiha knew she was tempted. He leaned forward slightly, fixed his gaze on her, and said, "I can tell you the true identity of the man who contacted you and called himself Madara Uchiha."

Konan reacted immediately. She had never imagined that the man before her not only knew everything about them, but even knew about the mysterious man who rarely contacted them and always remained hidden in the shadows.

Although that mysterious man had approached them before, neither Yahiko, Nagato, nor Konan had ever figured out his identity.

He called himself Madara Uchiha, but in the shinobi world, extracting chakra from the body's cells and pushing them to their limits meant that shinobi generally did not live very long. They aged quickly, too. By fifty, their bodies might function no better than those of ordinary people in their seventies or eighties.

Given Madara Uchiha's age, even if he had somehow managed to stay alive until now, he would certainly have been old and frail. There was no way he could have possessed the mysterious man's bearing and agility.

Another possibility had occurred to Konan: if that man really was not Madara Uchiha, then he could very well be a member of the Uchiha Clan. And the man before her was its clan leader. It was hard to believe there was no connection between them.
