Viserys focused all his attention on Meleys as she slowly descended, and on the anxious figure on her back.
Seeing that Viserys had no intention of explaining, Robb had the sense not to press him further.
He buried his shock and suspicions deep within, noting one thing in the deepest recesses of his mind: the bond between Viserys and his Dragon, King Ghidorah, might be closer and more extraordinary than anything in the known records or legends.
Robb resolved that once he returned to his study, he would carefully search through those dusty records about the Targaryens and Dragons again, looking for any trace of a similar occurrence.
Although the North had now fully submitted to the Iron Throne, and Robb Stark himself had bent the knee before Viserys's fire and blood, learning more about this king and his power beyond ordinary comprehension could only be a good thing. Knowledge was sometimes a power in its own right.
Meleys reached the air above the courtyard where House Stark's Crypt stood. Rather than land immediately, she spread her broad wings and circled the seemingly small area once.
Only then did she choose an open patch away from the crowd, but not too far from Viserys and the others, and begin folding her wings to descend.
Yet even though Meleys restrained her force as much as possible, the impact of her enormous bulk and weight still sent a distinct tremor through the ground.
The fierce wind stirred up by her landing swept roughly across the entire courtyard. The flames of the torches mounted along the surrounding stone walls abruptly bowed beneath the sudden gust, roaring violently and scattering sparks as their light dimmed.
Several soldiers standing a little too close to Meleys's landing spot staggered backward in the wind, hastily raising their
