Viserys glanced once more at the dark sea below before saying slowly, "There seems to be something else on the island."
He spoke very softly, as though merely making an offhand remark to himself, and the rush of wind from the dragon's wings almost drowned him out. Yet Daenerys still heard every word.
She looked toward the distant island too, but all she could see below was an entirely ordinary island.
Her gaze searched back and forth below for a while before she asked, "What's on the island? Are there still Ironborn there? Like the ones who didn't make it onto the ships earlier? Should we wipe them all out?"
"Probably. She's near the Ironborn camp, after all, and she hasn't moved for a long time," Viserys said evenly. "She's been like that since we first arrived. And I think she still seems to be unconscious."
As he spoke, Viserys focused his mental power again and pressed it toward the island. Like an invisible net, it first enveloped the entire Ironborn camp, then spread outward along the uneven rocks surrounding it.
"She? Do you think that person is Asha? That Sea Monster's daughter?" Catching his meaning, Daenerys tilted her head slightly toward him. Her eyes were full of reproach, while her voice carried unmistakable curiosity and wariness.
Viserys fell silent for a moment. Rather than answering immediately, he continued sweeping his mental power across the island. In truth, he had only sensed that the aura was somewhat familiar before, without immediately connecting it to anyone.
At first, he had even thought she might be some woman he had met once, who had now been abducted by the Ironborn to serve as a salt wife. That would explain why she was in their camp, and why they had knocked her unconscious.
