Viserys listened without immediately giving his opinion. In his mind, he checked the figures in the ledgers Robin had provided against the reports he had received from Varys in King's Landing, then deducted several unavoidable losses incurred during transport. Once he had worked it all out, the discrepancy was small.
After finishing those earlier questions, Viserys did not immediately tell Robin to stop. He went on to ask about several finer details.
These included exactly what measures White Harbor took to keep provisions dry after they entered the warehouses, how weapons were protected against rust during transport, and how the various supply routes from White Harbor to the Wall were arranged.
Robin answered each of these questions accurately as well. Every explanation was clear and orderly, without the slightest ambiguity.
"Do you know how things stand at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea?" Viserys asked at last. After that, he said nothing more, simply watching Robin quietly as he waited for an answer.
Robin raised his head slightly, his voice growing firmer. "I know a little. We send a ship from White Harbor to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea every week. They all follow coastal routes and hardly ever venture into the depths of the Shivering Sea."
"The ships are also led by several experienced old captains. They know the winds, currents, and weather in that area very well, and they won't easily let the fleet lose its way in the Shivering Sea."
"According to the men who returned earlier, the Night's Watch has already begun expanding the docks and warehouses at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea's harbor. Their docks are much wider than before now, and they've built a new row of warehouses specifically to hold the supplies sent to the Night's Watch from all over."
