After Robin and the others left, Earl Wyman had originally arranged for his two granddaughters, Wylfield and Willa Manderly, to take Viserys and Daenerys around White Harbor and show them the sights.

They could visit Fish King's Square together. Located just inside the Seal Gate, it was a broad, cobbled square with a fountain at its center unlike any other in the North, fed by hot spring water that continually welled up from underground.

Or they could visit the Castle Steps, a broad flight of white stone stairs leading upward, connecting the Wolf's Den on the waterfront to the New Castle halfway up the hill. Many marble mermaid statues stood along either side.

Those mermaids held bowls of blazing whale oil in their hands, lighting the street between them. The flames swayed gently in the wind but never went out.

And looking down from the top of the Castle Steps, they could take in the entire harbor, with both the inner and outer harbors clearly visible at a glance.

There was also the Snow Sept, a great domed sept of the Seven, with towering statues of the Seven rising above its dome. It was one of the few septs of the Seven in the North, solemn and imposing beneath White Harbor's skies.

These were all distinctive landmarks worth seeing in White Harbor, but Viserys politely declined Wyman's offer to have people accompany them.

"There's no need to trouble yourself, Lord Wyman. Dany and I can walk around the city on our own," Viserys said evenly, with little courtesy in his expression. "We won't take anyone with us, and we won't go far. We'll just look around White Harbor."

Hearing this, Earl Wyman did not press him further. He merely bowed slightly and added a few quiet words, telling them that
