Viserys crouched and stroked the newborn Hatchling Dragon. The Dragonlord blood in his veins and their earlier magical resonance made it easy for him to earn its affection and acceptance.

He walked over to Daenerys and scooped her up. "Dany, I know what you're worried about, but I believe you'll be able to hatch those three dragon eggs. They may simply need a different way to awaken them, and you have plenty of time to try. Even if they truly fail to hatch in the end, there are still so many here for you to choose from."
His words gave the little girl great comfort and encouragement. She nodded firmly and pressed her cheek against his chest.
"I won't give up, brother. I'm Daenerys Stormborn, after all."
"Yes, I believe in you. Now it's time to name them. Do you have any suggestions?"

Viserys took up her suggestion. "Then let's name them after those three dragons. The black one will be Balerion,
"the green one Vhagar, and the bronze-yellow one Meraxes. I hope they can grow to that size someday, too, and become new legends."
