"You're sure everything's all right now?"
Chu Youning raised her eyes. Though she had known the outcome long ago, hearing Ye Tianque's definitive answer still brought her an inexplicable sense of relief.
"Yes, everything's all right."
Ye Tianque nodded.
"Wonderful! It's still early. Let's keep shopping!"
Chu Lange leaped up excitedly at that, then grabbed County Lady Baojin and ran outside.
Watching the two instantly regain their energy, Chu Youning felt rather conflicted.
[Damn it, even the leader of his die-hard solo fans isn't worried about her idol anymore. Why am I still wearing myself out over this?]
[What a shame. Now I'm not even in the mood to shop and scout things out.]
Chu Youning simply turned to Jiang Wanrong. "So, Sis, where did you tie her up? Let's go take a look."
"At the Jiang Residence. Let's go together."
Jiang Wanrong walked over and gently took Chu Youning's hand.
Seeing this, Xie Ciyan immediately hurried after them. "Who did you tie up? What are you planning to do? Take me along. Maybe I can help!"
But before Jiang Wanrong or Chu Youning could answer, Jiang He stepped into Xie Ciyan's path.
He grinned at Xie Ciyan, though his words still hid a barb beneath their softness.
"It's dark. I imagine quite a few of the women in my family have retired for the night. Don't you have a home, Young Marquis Xie? Why are you still trying to worm your way into the Jiang Residence after dark?"
Xie Ciyan looked at Jiang He, then at Jiang Wanrong and Chu Youning's nearly vanishing backs. He badly wanted to protest, but remembering who stood before him, he ultimately gave up.
He settled for the next best thing. "Then... can I see you off?"
Jiang He did not stop him again.
