Jiang Wanrong spoke up at that as well:
"I don't actually intend to do anything to you. I just want to ask you a few questions."
"First, who did you meet when you went to Liufeng Alley today?"
Qiu Ying's eyes flickered, but she struggled for only a moment before the words spilled out.
"The Seventh Prince."
Chu Youning sprang to her feet, her eyes widening. "That bastard Chu Haoze is still in the Capital?"
"Yes."
Qiu Ying lowered her head.
"Second, what did you go to see him for?"
This time, Qiu Ying struggled much harder, but the words still spilled out. "To deliver a letter to the Seventh Prince on behalf of my master."
A gleam flashed through Chu Youning's eyes.
Oho, doesn't that line up perfectly?
The little palace maid with the red mole between her brows delivered the Evil Incense recipe to that bastard Chu Haoze.
No wonder there's been no movement for so long. So this was where the next move was waiting.
Jiang Wanrong was delighted to hear Qiu Ying's answer.
The clues she had spent so long investigating seemed to have fallen into place again today.
"Your master... who is he?"
"He's... a man in a black robe. I... don't know who he is, but... there's a familiar scent on him. It's a little like... the incense burned in temples."
Qiu Ying's eyes filled with terror as she spoke of this.
She could not help struggling again, unable to understand why she was blurting all of this out.
With a conclusion more or less in hand, Jiang Wanrong walked over and stuffed the wad of cloth back into Qiu Ying's mouth.
Then she knocked her unconscious with a chop of her hand and met Chu Youning's gaze.
"Sis, let's go outside to talk."
