Before Shen Yangge could look more closely into System 615's words, he spotted a dense mass of dark shapes in the distant waters. He was utterly exasperated.
Watching the orca chasing his tail for fun, he wanted to smack it with that same tail. One orca was bad enough, but the damn thing had brought a whole pod! Were they going to toss him around like a toy?
Remembering how he had been knocked into the sky and dropped back into the sea, Shen Yangge couldn't keep his tail still. He hurried toward the shore.
He would rather risk being discovered than let the orcas give him the full-service flight experience.
As he began to retreat, the orca pursued him relentlessly. More whales gathered around, seemingly communicating underwater and discussing him. A few, perhaps because they talked too much or disagreed with the others, were rammed and sent flying to the back of the group.
That looked just like the fate awaiting him. Shen Yangge swallowed, blinked his reddened eyes, and swished his tail even faster.
By the time the orcas surrounded him, Shen Yangge had already planted his hands on the grass. The sharp blades pricked his palms, but he ignored the pain and rolled onto shore. The instant his tail left the seawater, that deeply uncomfortable sensation returned.
The orcas poked their heads up one after another, crowding around him. Some sprayed water at Shen Yangge; others leaped up and plunged back into the sea, as though saying, Tail beast, come down! Come down and play with us!
Play, my ass. Any more playing and I'll end up in the sky.
He had no desire to end up like a manta ray, slapped unconscious by orcas and launched into the air over and over until he finally croaked.
