An Shi was puzzled, but he accepted anyway. Star hardly ever asked him for anything, so if Star had suddenly recommended a friend, there was probably a reason.

William had just received the notification that his friend request had been accepted. Excited, he typed out a long string of messages, but after thinking them over and repeatedly deleting and revising them, he only sent a few words.

An Shi looked up at his mother, who had suddenly appeared in his home, and silently lowered his phone. "Who gave you the key?"
His mother's expression was ugly as she said coldly, "What, can't your own mother come see you? Who were you chatting with just now? Are you dating someone? You can't..."
"Is that any of your business?"
An Shi walked past her without a care and set the things in his hands neatly on the table, taking a veiled jab at her. "I heard Uncle Qi went on vacation with his wife. They really do have such a good relationship."
"How do you still have time to come see me? Has Father been neglecting you?"
His mother's face briefly twisted with anger. "An Shi, I'm your mother!"
An Shi had no intention of even looking back at her. His tone was dismissive. "Yes, and? What are you so angry about?"
His mother stormed over and slapped away the hand he was using
