Golden Iron Triangle and Shrek Academy

Flender formerly belonged to the Golden Iron Triangle alongside Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong. He founded Shrek Academy and maintained close ties with its teachers; Zhao Wuji addresses him as “Big Brother” 6 103 145.

When a Spirit Hall envoy attempts to arrest Yu Xiaogang for falsely accusing Spirit Hall of stealing his theories, Flender intervenes to rescue him. His support turns to fury when he discovers that Xiaogang had been boasting about theories he had never developed, and he faints from rage 7.

Bai Yu’s Interference and Loss of Ownership

At his antique shop, Flender sells Bai Yu a Hair Crystal for only two Gold Soul Coins. After recovering his senses, he recognizes Bai Yu’s belt as Yu Xiaogang’s Soul Tool and suspects that the boy is heading to Shrek Academy. He returns to the academy expecting to recover his loss through enrollment 38.

Bai Yu instead rewrites Shrek’s registration rule from requiring applicants to pay ten Gold Soul Coins to allowing them to receive ten. Flender consequently distributes money even to rejected applicants. Bai Yu renews the alteration after its effect ends, exhausting Flender’s savings and prompting him to mortgage Shrek Academy to the Suotuo City Money House 41 42.

The Money House takes ownership while leaving Flender in charge of daily operations. Unable to explain his own behavior, Flender tries to extract money from Tang San through a private admission assessment, which Bai Yu also alters 42.

Student Scandals and Financial Pressure

Yu Xiaogang’s harassment of students and Flender’s conduct drive Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing to apply for withdrawal. Flender agrees to have Bai Yu and other academy members speak with them. His eagerness to retain Ning Rongrong is partly financial: he hopes the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect will provide funding 47 48.

Flender initially minimizes Ma Hongjun’s attempted assault on Cui Hua, arguing that the attack failed and that Xiao Wu had already punished him. When Ning Rongrong invokes Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo, he changes his stance and accepts responsibility for failing to discipline his student 51.

Tang Hao later confronts Flender and Yu Xiaogang over Tang San’s treatment and Shrek’s financial problems. Bai Yu alters the confrontation into a degrading punishment that leaves both men helpless before the Clear Sky Douluo 49.

After Tang San, Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar are arrested for sexually assaulting Bule, Flender accepts responsibility and negotiates their release. Heaven Dou Royal Academy

Qin Ming, Flender’s former student, offers to arrange Shrek’s admission into Heaven Dou Royal Academy. To evade Li Changkong’s surveillance, Flender has the teachers leave separately with small groups of students under the pretext of training, then reunite outside Suotuo City 103 104.

Flender welcomes the royal academy’s favorable employment terms, even suggesting that he could retire there. When Prince Xue Xing and Dugu Bo threaten Shrek’s admission, however, he defends his group and nearly challenges Dugu Bo before Yu Xiaogang restrains him. The Shrek group ultimately completes enrollment after Dugu Yan persuades her grandfather to let them remain 107 110 111.

As a teacher there, Flender supports Meng Shenji’s punishment of Ma Hongjun and Oscar for misconduct: disciplinary marks, seven days of confinement, and an examination on academy rules 117.

When Tang San and the other three male students are expelled for publicly slandering the royal family, Flender decides to leave with them. Not all Shrek teachers agree to follow. Tang Hao subsequently removes Tang San from Flender’s care and forces Shrek to promise him three future favors 130 131.

At a farewell dinner, Bai Yu changes Flender’s intended retreat from an inappropriate restroom encounter into participation. Xue Beng discovers the incident and later sends a crowd to humiliate the departing group. Blue Tyrant and Canghui Academies

Flender takes Yu Xiaogang, Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar to Blue Tyrant Academy in search of a new place to settle. He tries to secure a position for Xiaogang, but Liu Erlong refuses 145.

He later becomes vice dean of Canghui Academy, bringing the same four companions with him. When Dean Shi Nian raises complaints about Ma Hongjun’s harassment of female students, Flender invokes a prior agreement to tolerate such conduct and pressures Shi Nian with his superior cultivation 163.

Unknown to Flender, Shi Nian is applying subtle spiritual influence to him each day. Shi Nian intends to refine him into a puppet by the start of the Soul Master Competition; the supplied chapters establish the plan, not its completion 163.

His loyalty to his students is genuine but often becomes protection from accountability. Conversely, he minimizes Ma Hongjun’s attempted assault and later demands that Canghui Academy tolerate harassment 51 88 130 163.

His confidence depends heavily on the opposition’s power. He uses his Soul Saint standing to pressure Shi Nian, yet becomes frightened before Tang Hao and defers to stronger academy officials.
