Background / History

Origin and awakening

Tang San originated from Earth as a Tang Sect disciple. After violating the sect's rules, he was pursued and jumped from a cliff; his soul later possessed Tang Hao's biological son, erasing the child's soul. Bai Yu exposed this secret to Tang Hao, and Tang San was forced to admit that he had intended to use those around him to rebuild the Tang Sect 212.

Raised in Holy Spirit Village as Tang Hao's son, he awakened Innate Full Soul Power and two altered Martial Souls: Blue Silver Fart and Clear Sky Dog 2 3. Tang Hao judged the Clear Sky Dog to be a conscious, summonable mutated Beast Spirit, but its attacks manifested as farts 3.

To conceal Tang San's Twin Martial Souls and avoid attracting attention, Tang Hao ordered him to present them publicly as one mutated Martial Soul, the Blue Silver Dog 3.

Nuoding Academy

Tang San enrolled at Nuoding Academy as a work-study student and became Yu Xiaogang's disciple after a system-induced incident that both parties agreed to keep secret 5. He defended Yu Xiaogang when academy staff disparaged the disgraced teacher, refusing to let others insult his master 8.

At the Seventh Dormitory, he used his foul-smelling Martial Soul to drive off students bullying the work-study group, but the act emptied the cafeteria and resulted in a fine 11. His conduct and odor alienated many dormmates, while his conflict with Boss Xiao escalated into a public feud 19 20.

Yu Xiaogang took Tang San to the Soul Hunting Forest for his first ring. Tang San killed a Mandala Snake using the Purple Demon Eye, Mysterious Heaven Skill, and a dagger, but the absorbed ring became a one-year ring rather than the expected four-hundred-year ring 29 30.

Shrek Academy and separation from Yu Xiaogang

Tang San later entered Shrek Academy, where he reached Rank 29 and continued training alongside the Shrek Seven Devils 43. He broke through Rank 30 during the expedition after Xiao Wu's return from the Star Dou Great Forest 71.

While absorbing a third ring from a pangolin, the ring degraded to one year and violent Soul Power severely injured his lower body, leaving him unable to have children 83. The loss intensified his stated desire to become powerful enough to rebuild the Tang Sect 83.

After Bai Yu was presumed killed in an ambush, Tang San repeatedly confronted Yu Tianheng, whom he blamed for Bai Yu's disappearance. Yu Xiaogang defended Yu Tianheng, prompting Tang San to disavow his master and end their master-disciple relationship 127.

Flight with Tang Hao

Tang Hao removed Tang San from Shrek Academy and revealed that he was the Clear Sky Douluo, a Titled Douluo and member of the Clear Sky Sect 131 134. When Tang Hao attacked Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Martial Soul Hall and the empire pursued the pair, forcing them into the Star Dou Great Forest 134 135.

Under Tang Hao's forest training, Tang San adapted to eating raw Soul Beast meat and became increasingly violent 164. He used Yellow Mist, the Purple Demon Eye, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and hidden weapons to massacre Heaven Dou soldiers, accumulating the killing intent Tang Hao believed necessary for Slaughter City 179.

Tang San later ambushed and eliminated Li Hu's Martial Soul Hall patrol, wielding a Zhuge Crossbow and Bone-Piercing Knife 183. He then entered Slaughter City, where he embraced killing and eventually obtained the Slaughter God's Domain 199 212.

Exposure and presumed death

After Tang San left Slaughter City, Tang Hao intended to seek revenge against Bai Yu. Bai Yu instead revealed Tang San's possession of Tang Hao's son and his former life as a Tang Sect disciple 212.

The revelation turned Tang Hao against him. Tang San fled after being compelled to admit that he had planned to use Tang Hao and Bai Yu for his own ambitions; Tang Hao pursued him, and Tang San was subsequently reported to have become ashes from a sky lantern 212.

Tang San is identified by his deep blue hair 5.

• His public Martial Soul is usually presented as the Blue Silver Dog, a dog-like summon that releases yellow mist 3 19.
• Following the pangolin-ring accident, he lost many teeth after later chewing stones and suffered visible injuries that required recovery time 83 116.

Personality

Tang San is intensely prideful and preoccupied with recognition. He expects others to acknowledge his talent, reacts badly to humiliation, and openly declares himself a once-in-a-century genius after defeating senior students 14 18.

He can be loyal and self-sacrificing toward people he considers important. He protected work-study students from bullies, defended Yu Xiaogang's reputation, and saved Yu Xiaogang from Mandala Snake poison despite the humiliation involved 8 11 30. He also pursued Yu Tianheng relentlessly when he believed Bai Yu had been abandoned to die 127.

His loyalty is paired with calculation and vindictiveness. He considered killing Bai Yu to conceal the incident involving Yu Xiaogang's poisoning, attempted a covert attack on Meng Yiran after losing their Soul Power contest, and relied on hidden weapons whenever they offered an advantage 30 66 183.

Many of Tang San's most erratic public actions were directly caused by Bai Yu's narrative modifications, including his conduct during the academy gate incident, the confrontation with Boss Xiao, and the stone-eating episode 5 19 115. Under Tang Hao's later training, his behavior became openly bloodthirsty, culminating in a desire to kill for pleasure and pursue power without restraint 164 179 212.

Tang San's Twin Martial Souls were altered at awakening. The Blue Silver Fart manifests as foul blue gas, while the Clear Sky Dog is a conscious, summonable mutated Beast Spirit 2 3.
