Orochimaru turned his head and replied calmly.
They froze in shock!
It wasn't his words that shocked them, but his appearance. Orochimaru's face was deathly pale now, as white as paper.
To put it another way, it looked as though the slightest touch would tear his skin and draw blood.
Perhaps even a strong gust of wind could peel his skin right off.
"My god!"
Tsunade's mouth hung open. She had no idea how to react.
Jiraiya was the same, too shocked to speak.
Under normal circumstances, he could have understood if Orochimaru had turned around with a woman's face. After all, he had watched the video in the Diary countless times, just to keep himself from being so disgusted at their first meeting that it affected his combat ability.
But now his damn face hadn't changed at all. How had he ended up so pale and unsteady on his feet?
Oh, had this snake shed his skin too many times?
He couldn't understand it.

"You, ah-"
Their stammering made Orochimaru's expression darken.
"Y-yes... we discovered you long ago..."
They had prepared a whole tirade for Orochimaru, about how heartless he was to attack the village and how he was hardly human anymore. But the sight of his face instantly robbed them of their words.
"Aren't you clever!"
Orochimaru lost any desire to keep talking. He clapped his hands together and formed seals.
"Summoning Technique-"
Seeing this, Jiraiya and Tsunade, who had watched the video through their diaries, naturally understood what he intended to do. Their expressions darkened.
Both prepared to attack.
Bzzzt, bzzzt.
A Rasengan formed in an instant.
Tsunade tensed her legs, and the branch beneath her feet immediately creaked.
