"Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!"
At that moment, three voices rang out at once.
Three of the Impure World Elites, all members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, appeared on the battlefield and jointly unleashed the Great Waterfall Technique!
Chakra surged out.
An enormous waterfall seemed to descend onto the battlefield from thin air, turning into a towering, tsunami-like wave that swept across the battlefield.
Powerful currents instantly flooded the battlefield. Everyone fighting leaped into the air to avoid the raging water beneath their feet.
Those who failed to dodge in time were swept away, carried off to who knew where.
The entire process lasted roughly a minute before the Great Waterfall Technique jointly cast by the three finally stopped.
The chakra signatures of the three Impure World Elites had noticeably weakened.
Even though Impure World Reincarnation granted unlimited chakra, recovering it still took time.
However, that recovery was swift. In the blink of an eye, all three had returned to their peak.
The waterfall they unleashed had turned almost the entire surrounding area into a lake!
Until the water drained away, the Iwagakure ninja's Earth Release would be severely restricted.
"Damn it! Who are those people? How did they unleash Water Release over such a huge area?!" The Iwagakure ninja began to panic.
"Who cares! Kill them!" someone shouted. Retreating would no longer be easy.
The waterfall had washed their formations into disarray. Ninja from both sides were now scattered among one another across the water, forced into individual fights. Any attempt to retreat would come at a tremendous cost.
Kitsuchi had no good solution either. He could only rely on his own formidable strength to salvage as much of the situation as possible.
Meanwhile, in the forest behind Kusagakure, another contingent of Iwagakure ninja anxiously awaited the signal from the diversionary force.
But despite waiting a long time, they received no signal.
The elite jonin leading them frowned deeply. "Something must have happened to the diversionary force. Sensor ninja, can you sense what's happening over there?"
A sensor ninja closed his eyes, gathered his chakra, and carefully probed the area. Suddenly, his eyes flew open in terror, and he cried, "The diversionary force is locked in a bitter fight! It seems someone ambushed them in advance! Also, I just sensed an incredibly powerful chakra signature appear near us!"
"Hmm? How powerful?" the elite jonin leading them asked.
The sensor ninja looked terrified. "That chakra signature is every bit as powerful as our Lord Tsuchikage's!"
"What?!" The jonin leader was startled.
Just then, a young figure wearing a white Hokage Robe came into view, walking slowly toward them.
A man and a woman followed beside him.
An imposing aura of powerful chakra radiated from him.
"Who are you?!" the jonin leader shouted as everyone present stiffened.
The newcomer was, of course, Uchiha Sora. He had brought only Uzuki Yugao and Zabuza.
He had sent the other Impure World Elites to defend other locations. He alone was enough to handle the surprise attack force here.
Although Zabuza and Uzuki Yugao had both accompanied him, Uchiha Sora only intended for them to provide support.
Hearing the Iwagakure jonin leader's question, Uchiha Sora replied unhurriedly, "You sent people to attack my territory, yet you still have to ask who I am? Didn't the Third Tsuchikage brief you on me?"
"It's you! Uchiha Sora, the man who conquered Kusagakure!" The jonin leader finally recognized him and said gravely, "You certainly have an imposing presence!"
Uchiha Sora smiled faintly. "Ready to die?"
"Hmph! Aren't you talking a little too big?" The jonin leader snorted, refusing to back down.
He had a full three to four hundred people with him, including at least thirty jonin. The rest were all chunin at minimum, with most being elite chunin. Many had fought in the Third Shinobi World War and possessed extensive experience.
"Well, it seems Iwagakure still doesn't know enough about me." Uchiha Sora sighed softly. "I didn't want to kill too many people, but unfortunately, you insisted on coming to me. In that case, I'll take your lives!"
"Heh! What shameless boasting!" The Iwagakure jonin leader laughed in fury, then waved his hand and ordered everyone to charge at Uchiha Sora.
"You two, fall back!" Uchiha Sora told Zabuza and Uzuki Yugao.
Zabuza nodded and immediately stepped back.
Uzuki Yugao wanted to move forward and help, but Zabuza quickly warned her, "I'd advise you not to get in the leader's way! His strength is beyond anything you can imagine! Just watch from the sidelines!"
Uzuki Yugao was no clueless fool. Although she wanted to help Uchiha Sora, rushing in under these circumstances would indeed amount to throwing her life away.
"Fine. I really don't understand why he didn't bring more people. This is a major force from Iwagakure!" she said worriedly. "Even if Sora is strong, isn't taking them on alone pushing it too far?"
Zabuza merely chuckled without saying more, watching the handsome young man's back with anticipation.
At that moment, the Iwagakure force's assault swept toward him like a tidal wave.
Uchiha Sora instantly activated his Three-Tomoe Sharingan, drew the longsword at his waist, and charged straight into the crowd!
He swung his longsword, extending wind-nature chakra from the blade. With one forward slash, a fierce gale erupted!
The Iwagakure ninja in its path were instantly sent flying by the slash!
Then his figure flashed as he used the Body Flicker Technique to appear before an Iwagakure ninja, sending him flying with a punch and a kick.
He thrust his longsword backward, piercing someone who had been preparing to attack him from behind.
Uchiha Sora pushed the perceptive power of his Three-Tomoe Sharingan to its limits. Amid the crowd, all that could be seen was his constantly darting figure and Iwagakure ninja falling at the first exchange.
Bang, bang, bang...
For a time, no enemy within three feet of Uchiha Sora could withstand even a single exchange!
Suddenly, the jonin leader rushed in front of Uchiha Sora. Under his teammates' cover, he used ninjutsu to transform one arm into an enormous Rock Fist, then smashed it down at Uchiha Sora!
Uchiha Sora brought his hand up to meet the Rock Fist, a deep blue ball of chakra forming in his palm.
Rasengan!
Boom!
The Rock Fist and Rasengan collided violently, producing a deafening explosion.
Chunks of rock and earth flew in all directions as Uchiha Sora used the force to propel himself backward.
He formed hand seals, aiming at the ninja ahead.
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!"
Chakra surged out, and three enormous fire dragons hurtled toward the crowd from three different directions!
The jonin leader's pupils contracted at the sight, and he hurriedly shouted, "Quick, use Earth-Style Wall!"
With that, he rapidly formed hand seals and pressed both palms to the ground.
An earthen wall rose with a thunderous rumble, blocking the path of one of the fire dragons...
