Chapters 301–325 Vol. 4 Read

Ch. 301Ōnoki of Both Scales

Ōnoki learned that Naruto Uzumaki was leading Konoha’s overwhelming invasion toward Iwagakure and prepared the village to resist while seeking help from other villages and Akatsuki. After Kurotsuchi visited him, Ōnoki resolved to face the Sixth Hokage himself.

  • Ōnoki read reports that the resurrected Hokage, perfect jinchūriki Naruto, and Konoha’s rapid conquest of the Land of Grass threatened Iwagakure.
  • Ōnoki contacted Akatsuki, ordered Iwagakure’s scattered ninjas to return, and sent messengers to Kumogakure, Kirigakure, and Sunagakure to warn them and seek an alliance.
  • Ōnoki worried that Roshi might encounter Naruto and be drawn into a fight.
  • Kurotsuchi visited Ōnoki, reminded him that she was already a chunin, and asked about the village’s tense atmosphere.
  • Ōnoki withheld the details from Kurotsuchi and, after she left, vowed to confront Naruto and defend Iwagakure.

Ch. 302Feeling dizzy is normal

Kurotsuchi discovered a golden cloud approaching Iwagakure and confronted its passengers, Naruto and Hikari. Hikari incapacitated her with Tsukuyomi, and Naruto prepared to carry her along as they continued toward Iwagakure.

  • Kurotsuchi watched Iwagakure from a rocky rise and grew suspicious that Ōnoki was hiding a serious crisis.
  • Kurotsuchi spotted a fast-moving cloud of gold dust approaching the village and recognized it as the signature technique of the supposedly dead Rasa.
  • Kurotsuchi ordered the gold-dust cloud to land, then confronted Naruto and Hikari as they disembarked.
  • Hikari used Tsukuyomi to knock Kurotsuchi unconscious before she could attack or raise an alarm.
  • Naruto identified Kurotsuchi as Ōnoki's granddaughter and lifted her with gold dust, while Hikari warned him not to use her as a hostage.

Ch. 303Underestimated

Naruto and Hikari arrived above Iwagakure with the unconscious Kurotsuchi and gave the village four hours to evacuate before an indiscriminate attack. Ōnoki refused to fight over the village, but made no move to begin evacuating civilians, and Naruto ended the standoff by mocking Iwagakure.

  • Naruto dropped a scroll declaring war onto the Tsuchikage Building's roof, drawing out Iwagakure's ninja and Ōnoki.
  • Ōnoki recognized Naruto and saw Kurotsuchi bound and unconscious on Naruto's gold dust platform.
  • Naruto announced that Iwagakure had four hours to evacuate before he launched an indiscriminate attack.
  • Ōnoki challenged Naruto to fight outside the village, but Naruto insisted they fight over Iwagakure, where the battle would threaten the village.
  • Ōnoki held back to protect Iwagakure, torn between his duty and his granddaughter, while the civilians remained unevacuated.
  • Naruto clapped sarcastically and said he had underestimated Iwagakure.

Ch. 304Three and a half

Naruto shortened his warning to Iwagakure to three and a half hours, forcing Ōnoki to order an immediate civilian evacuation and defensive preparations. As the village mobilized, Ōnoki asked why Naruto was invading, and Naruto reminded him of Iwagakure’s past attacks on the Land of Fire.

  • Naruto cut Iwagakure’s evacuation deadline by half an hour and announced that his attack would begin in three and a half hours.
  • Ōnoki ordered Kitsuchi to activate the emergency plan and evacuate civilians to shelters outside the village.
  • Kitsuchi directed Iwagakure’s ninja to evacuate civilians, form a defensive line, monitor chakra, and prepare medical supplies.
  • Ōnoki asked Naruto why he was invading Iwagakure, claiming the village had never provoked him.
  • Naruto mocked Ōnoki’s claim and pointed out that Iwagakure had joined other villages in invading the Land of Fire for resources and territory.

Ch. 305Hmph, this war definitely had something to do with that bastard Hiruzen Sarutobi!

Naruto rejected Ōnoki’s claim that old grudges should be forgotten and defended his war of unification as the only way to secure lasting peace. As Naruto gave Iwagakure three and a half hours to choose between fighting, surrendering, or being destroyed, Ōnoki recognized Hikari’s resemblance to Madara Uchiha and concluded that Hiruzen Sarutobi was behind the war.

  • Ōnoki argued that the wars were old history and accused Naruto of disrupting the peace.
  • Naruto insisted that past grievances remained alive and that true peace required unifying the shinobi world.
  • Naruto gave Ōnoki three and a half hours to fight, surrender, or watch Iwagakure be reduced to rubble.
  • Ōnoki remembered Madara Uchiha and noticed Hikari’s striking resemblance to him.
  • Ōnoki suspected Hikari was Madara’s descendant and blamed Hiruzen Sarutobi for hiding the Uchiha and orchestrating Naruto’s war.

Ch. 306You could just say it outright

Naruto returned the unconscious Kurotsuchi to Ōnoki and asked him to move her somewhere safe before their fight. As Ōnoki flew back to battle, Naruto prepared Hikari to face him by replenishing her chakra, while stopping her from using Yachihoko on him.

  • Naruto used gold dust to carry the unconscious Kurotsuchi to Ōnoki and explained that she was safe and unharmed.
  • Ōnoki took Kurotsuchi to a safe place so he could fight without worrying about her.
  • Naruto assigned Hikari to fight Ōnoki while he planned to handle everyone else in Iwagakure.
  • Hikari activated her Mangekyō Sharingan, but Naruto stopped her from using Yachihoko to mark and control him.
  • Naruto transferred chakra to Hikari, restoring her strength as Ōnoki returned to the battlefield.

Ch. 307Battle begins

Naruto and Hikari faced an attack by Ōnoki and more than a thousand Iwagakure ninja, who trapped them inside a massive sphere of rock. They shattered the sphere and revealed Naruto’s Complete Tailed Beast Transformation and Hikari’s Perfect Susanoo, standing together above Iwagakure.

  • Ōnoki summoned a stone golem as Kitsuchi and the Iwagakure ninja launched coordinated Earth Release techniques at Naruto and Hikari.
  • The Iwagakure ninja used Mountain Earth Technique to enclose Naruto and Hikari in a huge sphere of compressed rock and soil.
  • Naruto and Hikari unleashed their chakra, and a furious roar rang out from inside the sphere.
  • Naruto and Hikari burst through the sphere as Naruto’s golden Nine-Tails transformation and Hikari’s crimson Perfect Susanoo appeared side by side.

Ch. 308Eight-Armed Asura

Naruto summoned the colossal Eight-Armed Asura and shattered Iwagakure’s resolve, while Uchiha Hikari fought Ōnoki in the sky. The chapter ended with Hikari’s thrown Susanoo sword being swallowed by Ōnoki’s Dust Release.

  • Uchiha Hikari sent her Perfect Susanoo flying toward Ōnoki, who evaded its attack with Dust Release.
  • Naruto summoned the Eight-Armed Asura around the Nine-Tails, forming a wooden giant that towered over Iwagakure.
  • Naruto looked down over Iwagakure as its ninja collapsed or froze in fear at the sight of the Asura.
  • Kitsuchi and a few other strong-willed jonin remained standing, but they doubted they could harm the wooden giant.
  • Ōnoki saw Iwagakure’s morale collapse and was distracted by the Eight-Armed Asura as Hikari attacked him.
  • Hikari threw Susanoo’s red longsword at Ōnoki, and his Dust Release swallowed it.

Ch. 309The Will of Stone

Ōnoki remembered his grandfather Ishikawa’s lesson that Iwagakure’s strength lay not in its stone symbol but in the resolve of its people. When Kurotsuchi brought him a stone from the battlefield, Ōnoki recovered his determination and rallied the Iwagakure ninja to stand against their enemies.

  • Kitsuchi carried Ōnoki and asked whether they would keep fighting, forcing Ōnoki to confront his wavering resolve.
  • Ōnoki recalled Ishikawa teaching him that the village’s true symbol was the perseverance in its people’s hearts.
  • Ōnoki remembered losing his resolve after Madara defeated him and mocked his weakness.
  • Kurotsuchi presented Ōnoki with a rough stone she had found, and he accepted it as Iwagakure’s symbol.
  • Ōnoki recovered his Will of Stone and urged the Iwagakure ninja to stand firm and never give up.

Ch. 310Gate of View, open!

Naruto admired Iwagakure’s unyielding resolve, then opened the Eight Gates and challenged the entire village to fight him at once. Ōnoki led the Iwagakure ninja’s charge, and Naruto began countering their attacks with earth techniques, shuriken, and Flying Thunder God.

  • Naruto reflected on Konoha’s will of fire and recognized the strength of Iwagakure’s will of stone.
  • Naruto leaped from the Eight-Armed Asura, opened the Eight Gates through the Gate of View, and challenged all the Iwagakure ninja to attack together.
  • Uchiha Hikari descended in her Susanoo, dispelled its complete form, and wondered if Naruto had gotten carried away.
  • Ōnoki answered Naruto’s challenge by ordering the Iwagakure ninja to charge.
  • Naruto blocked attacks with Earth Terrain Shift, launched a volley of shuriken with the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique, and used Flying Thunder God to take down more than a dozen attackers.

Ch. 311An unbridgeable chasm

Naruto used the Flying Thunder God Technique to break through Iwagakure’s forces, reviving their fear of the Yellow Flash. Yuta, an elite Iwagakure jonin, failed to stop him and died unable to understand the gulf between their strength.

  • Iwagakure ninja recognized Naruto’s Flying Thunder God Technique and faltered in fear.
  • Naruto fought through the encirclement, using the technique to evade defenses and kill Iwagakure ninja.
  • Yuta’s squad used their bodies to create an opening, allowing Yuta to strike Naruto with Rock Fist.
  • Naruto brushed off the attack and struck Yuta with an ordinary palm, shattering his rock fist and sending him crashing into an evacuated villager’s home.
  • As he died, Yuta wondered why decades of training and sacrifice meant nothing against Naruto.

Ch. 312Was He Really Fighting for Peace?

Naruto defeated Iwagakure’s forces, healed Yuta, and demanded the secrets of Dust Release from Ōnoki. After Ōnoki handed over a scroll, Naruto prepared to claim Iwagakure for Konoha, but worried that Han, the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, was missing.

  • Yuta woke among the ruins and realized Naruto had healed him after nearly killing him in battle.
  • Naruto took Kurotsuchi with him as leverage to persuade Ōnoki to teach him Dust Release, while Hikari watched over her.
  • Yuta concluded that Iwagakure had lost and wept at the absurdity of Naruto claiming to fight for peace.
  • Naruto told Ōnoki he had come to bring peace, and Ōnoki gave him the instructions for learning Dust Release.
  • Naruto said he would leave a clone behind and declare Iwagakure part of Konoha once Konoha’s people arrived.
  • Naruto worried that Han, the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, had not appeared during the battle.

Ch. 313Pain arrives

Pain and Konan arrived outside Iwagakure to test the strength of the force that had conquered it, while Naruto discovered Ōnoki had secretly placed a bounty on him. The chapter left Naruto and Ōnoki heading to meet the Akatsuki, as Hikari continued to outclass Kurotsuchi in training.

  • Pain and Konan reached Iwagakure with the captured Five-Tails Jinchuriki and sent the Animal Path ahead to investigate.
  • The Animal Path showed Iwagakure’s gate guards a mission scroll claiming the Akatsuki had been hired by Ōnoki to eliminate Naruto.
  • Naruto took the scroll from a messenger, saw Ōnoki’s signature, and burned it while Ōnoki nervously agreed it was fake.
  • Naruto asked Ōnoki to accompany him to meet the Akatsuki, and they left the Tsuchikage’s office together.
  • Hikari defeated Kurotsuchi in sparring again, and Kurotsuchi complained that Ōnoki’s Dust Release could not be inherited.

Ch. 314Rinnegan Naruto

Naruto confronted Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain at Iwagakure and revealed that he could wield the Rinnegan after replacing his eyes with Byakugan. As Ōnoki evacuated civilians, Nagato questioned Naruto about Jiraiya’s fall from his position.

  • The Six Paths of Pain appeared at Iwagakure’s main gate, and Naruto told Ōnoki to evacuate the civilians.
  • Naruto removed his eyes, sealed them in a scroll, and inserted a pair of Byakugan, allowing him to see the black rods inside Pain’s bodies.
  • Naruto’s eyes changed into blue Rinnegan, and he addressed Nagato by name.
  • Naruto told Nagato that he had mistaken Obito for Madara and that they had torn off one of Obito’s arms.
  • Nagato said Obito had shown him the results of using Hashirama cells and asked Naruto how Jiraiya had lost his position.

Ch. 315VS the Six Paths of Pain

Naruto fought Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain, using his abilities to evade their attacks and destroy two of the Paths. The King of Hell recovered the damaged bodies as Naruto vanished again, leaving the battle unresolved.

  • Deva Path used Banshō Ten'in, but Naruto countered with Shinra Tensei and deflected the pull.
  • Asura Path fired five missiles at Naruto, who blocked them with gold dust and appeared behind Human Path to destroy its head with a Rasengan.
  • Deva Path unleashed a wide Shinra Tensei, but Naruto had changed targets after using the brief rewind from Urashiki’s eyes and appeared behind Animal Path.
  • Naruto twisted off Animal Path’s head, then vanished before the King of Hell’s tongue could strike him.
  • The King of Hell’s tongue pulled in Human Path’s headless body and Animal Path’s severed head.

Ch. 316Akatsuki's angel

Naruto tested the Six Paths of Pain, identifying the strengths and limitations of their shared vision and coordinated abilities. Konan joined the battle and detonated a mass of disguised explosive tags around Naruto, leaving his condition unclear.

  • Naruto avoided Preta Path Pain's Absorption Seal and assessed how Nagato's divided control affected the Six Paths of Pain.
  • Naruto challenged Deva Path Pain, saying the Six Paths were not enough to defeat him.
  • Konan appeared above the battlefield and sent a storm of paper shuriken down at Naruto.
  • Naruto used Wind Pressure Pull to gather and restrain the paper shuriken in a spinning mass.
  • Konan detonated the disguised explosive tags, engulfing Naruto's position in blasts, smoke, and flames.

Ch. 317Auntie

Uchiha Hikari interrupted Konan’s attack on Naruto, but Konan evaded her Susanoo strike. Naruto reappeared unharmed using his new Cloud-Borne Instant technique and prepared to fight the Six Paths of Pain and Konan alongside Hikari.

  • Konan’s explosive tags struck Naruto, and Hikari charged her with a flaming Susanoo sword.
  • Konan transformed into paper with Dance of the Shikigami and escaped Hikari’s attack.
  • Naruto re-formed from red Paper Cranes using Cloud-Borne Instant, unharmed by the explosion.
  • Hikari redirected Susanoo’s sword toward Konan while Naruto reassured her and taunted his opponents.
  • Naruto activated the Eight Gates Formation and challenged the Six Paths of Pain and Konan to continue fighting.

Ch. 318Challenging a god was folly!

Naruto revealed his Six-Tomoe Rinnegan and opened the Gate of Wonder to face the assembled Six Paths of Pain and Konan. He used a feinting sword strike to sever Deva Path Pain’s left forearm, then escaped his counterattack with Flying Thunder God, leaving Nagato wondering how Naruto had anticipated his moves.

  • Deva Path Pain declared that challenging a god was folly as the King of Hell restored the Human Path and Animal Path.
  • Naruto revealed his Six-Tomoe Rinnegan and opened the Gate of Wonder, releasing overwhelming golden chakra and life energy.
  • Naruto took up the Yasohinokami and combined wind release with lightning release to charge Deva Path at tremendous speed.
  • Deva Path blocked Naruto’s sword, but Naruto shifted the blade’s course and cut off Deva Path’s left forearm.
  • Deva Path thrust his black rod at Naruto, who escaped with Flying Thunder God, while Nagato wondered how Naruto had anticipated his movements.

Ch. 319Laser Cannon: Destruction Shot

Naruto and Uchiha Hikari faced Pain’s forces as Nagato tested Naruto by firing a laser cannon toward civilians in Iwagakure. Naruto rescued Kurotsuchi and deflected the beam, but Pain’s attacks trapped Hikari and devastated a district, leaving civilians screaming in the wreckage.

  • Naruto teleported into Uchiha Hikari’s Perfect Susanoo, then told her to drop it and conserve chakra as Pain’s bodies and summons surrounded them.
  • Naruto created six Wood Clones and Wood Golems to engage Pain’s giant summons while Nagato reconsidered the intelligence about Naruto’s Wood Release.
  • Asura Path fired its laser cannon toward civilians and Stone ninja in Iwagakure to force Naruto to reveal how far he would go to protect them.
  • Kurotsuchi and nearby Stone ninja raised Earth-Style Walls, but the laser pierced them, so Naruto crushed Naraka Path, rescued Kurotsuchi, and used nine tails to deflect the beam.
  • Pain’s missiles struck as Konan’s paper held Hikari in place, and the explosions wrecked the district, leaving a vast crater amid smoke and cries from the survivors.

Ch. 320Naruto Uzumaki Was Still Playing Dirty?

Nagato refused to show mercy as Naruto used a golden-sand assault to scatter the Six Paths of Pain and set up a Flying Thunder God attack. The chapter ended as Naruto’s six golden flashes struck from different locations.

  • Nagato watched Iwagakure’s destruction without remorse, believing its suffering was retribution for the Land of Rain’s past torment.
  • Naruto confirmed Nagato’s location with the Mind's Eye of the Kagura and let the villagers see him defending Iwagakure.
  • Naruto’s Wood Golems restrained the Six Paths of Pain’s summoned beasts with regenerating wooden tendrils.
  • Naruto unleashed Magnet Release: Sand Waterfall Funeral, overwhelming the Pains with a physical flood of gold dust.
  • As the sand attack weakened and the Pains focused on surviving it, Naruto used Flying Thunder God to strike from six marked locations.

Ch. 321The Kamui Mangekyō Sharingan

Naruto and Uchiha Hikari defeated the Six Paths of Pain and captured Konan, but Obito Uchiha rescued Nagato before Naruto reached him. Naruto took the Kamui Mangekyō Sharingan and prepared to pursue them.

  • Naruto used the Flying Thunder God Technique to destroy all six Pains, including Yahiko's body.
  • Uchiha Hikari exploited Konan's grief, wounded her with Yasohinokami and Amaterasu, then trapped her in Tsukuyomi.
  • Nagato watched the defeat through the shared vision of the Six Paths of Pain and broke down in grief before deciding to return to the battlefield.
  • Obito Uchiha appeared in Nagato's cave and used Kamui to escape with him.
  • Naruto arrived at the cave, realized Obito had taken Nagato, and replaced his left eye with the Kamui Mangekyō Sharingan.

Ch. 322We'll Take Him Together

Naruto entered Obito's Kamui Dimension using Obito's left eye and confronted Obito and Nagato. After Tobi temporarily restored Nagato's mobility, Obito called on Nagato to fight Naruto alongside him.

  • Obito brought Nagato into the Kamui Dimension, where Nagato recognized him as Obito Uchiha.
  • Naruto forced his way into the dimension using Obito's left Mangekyō Sharingan and greeted Obito.
  • White Zetsu ambushed Naruto, but Naruto dodged and kicked him off the platform.
  • A spiral-faced White Zetsu named Tobi enveloped Nagato, supporting his body and temporarily enhancing his mobility and chakra activity.
  • Obito explained Tobi's abilities and urged Nagato to fight Naruto with him.

Ch. 323Born with nothing

Naruto fought Obito in the Kamui Dimension, wounded him despite his use of Kamui, and then challenged Nagato’s view of suffering. He left Nagato facing Naruto’s claim that he had been born without family or bonds.

  • Naruto taunted Obito and met his Gunbai with a wooden sword before striking at him with a black rod.
  • Obito used Kamui to turn intangible, but Naruto’s attack still wounded his abdomen, forcing him to retreat.
  • Nagato replenished some chakra by absorbing it from a White Zetsu clone and vowed to make Naruto feel pain.
  • Naruto told Nagato and Obito that they had known family, care, and companionship, while he had been born with nothing.

Ch. 324Hitting Where It Hurts

Naruto confronted Nagato and Obito with the pain and fears beneath their plans, but both rejected his accusations and attacked him. The chapter ended as Obito’s fire-and-Kamui technique and Nagato’s Asura Path cannon targeted Naruto.

  • Naruto accused Nagato of using Yahiko’s body as a puppet rather than reviving him, and of ignoring Yahiko’s and Konan’s feelings.
  • Naruto told Obito that he feared Rin would love Kakashi rather than him, and called his dream a refuge from reality.
  • Obito rejected Naruto’s words, defended Infinite Tsukuyomi as true salvation, and attacked with Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance.
  • Nagato overcame his hesitation, transformed his right arm into a Chakra Laser Cannon, and aimed it at Naruto.
  • Naruto welcomed the combined attack as excitement showed in his eyes.

Ch. 325Nothing more

Naruto’s layered Wood Release attack forced Obito and Nagato to flee the platform, but Nagato’s summons carried them to safety below. Nagato prepared to attack Naruto again while Naruto judged that fighting in person offered him only limited flexibility.

  • Naruto used Flying Thunder God to evade Obito’s Kunai, then multiplied a thrown Wooden Sword into a barrage aimed at Obito and Nagato.
  • Nagato blocked most of the swords with Shinra Tensei, but the scattered blades grew into wooden spikes around them.
  • Nagato grabbed Obito and leaped from the platform, then summoned Rhinoceros and Centipede after discovering he could not reach his other summoned creatures.
  • Obito urged Nagato to retreat with Kamui once they were farther away, but Nagato formed his laser cannon and vowed to make Naruto pay first.
  • Naruto watched them from the platform and remarked that Nagato’s direct control over his abilities offered only limited advantages.
