Naruto forced Iwagakure to submit, then fought Nagato and Konan when Akatsuki arrived. After Naruto defeated the Six Paths of Pain, Obito escaped with Nagato to the Kamui Dimension, where their battle continued.

• Ōnoki prepared Iwagakure for war, but Naruto arrived with Hikari and gave the village a deadline to evacuate before his attack.
• Naruto and Hikari overwhelmed Iwagakure’s defenses, but Ōnoki recovered his Will of Stone and ordered his ninja to fight back.
• Naruto defeated Iwagakure’s forces, spared Yuta, and persuaded Ōnoki to teach him Dust Release while planning to bring the village under Konoha’s control.
• Pain and Konan arrived with the captured Five-Tails Jinchuriki, and Naruto recognized Nagato and fought the Six Paths of Pain at Iwagakure’s gate.

Naruto celebrated Konoha’s victories with friends and family, accepted Sakura’s confession, and dealt with Nagato and Obito while the village enjoyed its festival. As the celebration ended, Naruto confronted A in Kumogakure and demanded that its civilians be evacuated before war began.

• Naruto agreed to let Hanabi and the other girls sew his Hokage Robe, promising to wear it after the war as a sign that peace had arrived.
• Konoha celebrated its victories, while Hiashi wrestled with his feelings about Naruto’s closeness to Hinata and Hanabi and Hanabi arranged to visit him with Hikari.
• Naruto’s friends watched Kiba’s awkward date with Kohan, and Naruto helped the pair get time alone after Kohan’s cat scratched Kiba.
• Naruto caught Pinzhu and Taichi during their festival escape, then reassured Sakura when she admitted she felt constrained by her parents and confessed that she liked him.
• Naruto killed Obito and Nagato, while Sasuke learned that Fugaku had fallen into an endless sleep and resolved to find a way to bring him back.
• Madara and Hashirama fought in the Pure Land after Hashirama explained how Mito had changed his view of peace, while Naruto’s companions gathered for fireworks and a family photo.
• Obito and Black Zetsu planned to use Akatsuki and Itachi to pursue Naruto and manipulate Sasuke, while Obito secretly intended to kill Black Zetsu.

Naruto defeated Kumogakure’s forces and the Akatsuki, then the story shifted to Jiraiya learning Dan Katō’s warning about the Pure Land and to Sasuke confronting the Star Ninja Village’s leader. Sasuke resisted Itachi’s invitation to follow him and returned to seek advice from his comrades.

• Naruto defeated A, Yugito, and Killer B, sealed the Raikage and Killer B in wooden coffins, and secured Kumogakure’s surrender by promising peace for its people.
• Naruto and Uchiha Hikari confronted the Akatsuki, and Hikari killed Hidan before Naruto and his clones killed Obito and scattered the others with a colossal Susanoo strike.
• Jiraiya met Miko Shion and Dan Katō, who told him that the Sage of Six Paths controlled the Pure Land and described his escape through the Sanzu River and Yomi.
• Jiraiya gave Dan his scroll of Ninjutsu and Sealing Jutsu for Shion, then left to retrieve Dan’s body from Konoha.
• Sasuke defeated Akahoshi and exposed how the meteorite’s power harmed the Star Ninja, then declared that Konoha would administer and protect the village.
• Uchiha Itachi revealed himself to Sasuke and invited him to follow for the truth, but Sasuke turned back to his comrades and asked Shikamaru for advice.
• White Zetsu told the waiting Itachi that Sasuke had turned back, leaving Black Zetsu to wonder whether Naruto’s influence had changed Sasuke’s decision.
