Background / History
Childhood in Star Luo City
Zhu Zhuqing grew up in Star Luo City as an illegitimate noble daughter destined to become a prince’s concubine. She suffered bullying and rejection, including relatives telling her that she should not be alive. Dai Mubai protected her, arguing and fighting with those who mistreated her 38 40 41.
Her childhood memories became fragmented after her martial-soul awakening. She remembered a protector but could no longer recall that person’s face; firelight, shouting, and a chaotic separation remained blurred in her mind. Believing her protector was still alive, she sought strength so that she could find and protect them in return 35 40.
Dai Weisi later confessed that he and Zhu Zhuyun had arranged to send Dai Mubai away, sell Zhu Zhuqing to the border, and falsely report her death. He blamed Zhu Zhuyun for devising the scheme 71.
Joining Shrek and Becoming Li Hanqiu’s Disciple
At Shrek Academy’s entrance assessments, Zhu Zhuqing silently watched Tang San and Xiao Wu demonstrate their exceptional cultivation. She felt an unexplained familiarity with Dai Mubai but did not recognize her. After passing the first two tests, she joined Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Ning Rongrong for Zhao Wuji’s practical assessment 27 28 29.
Her commitment to training attracted Li Hanqiu’s attention. After finding her practicing alone, he taught her feline footwork, posture, and concentrated striking power. She became absorbed in his instruction and told him about the childhood protector she hoped to find 34 35.
Tang San attempted to discourage her from becoming Li’s disciple by belittling her strength. Instead, she resolved to prove herself worthy and surpass Tang San. The next day, she requested a spar with Li, who identified her poor strength control and tendency to weaken attacks out of fear of disrupting her movement. Convinced by his insight, she knelt and asked to become his disciple; he accepted 36.
Arena Training and Reunion with Sister Mu
Li Hanqiu took Zhu Zhuqing to the Great Soul Arena for her first arena match. Her level-31 Black-Spot Python opponent used poisonous smoke to obscure her vision and suppress her soul power, then injured her back. Li intervened and stopped her from continuing against him 39.
Dai Mubai subsequently volunteered as her doubles partner. Despite never having fought together as a team, they defeated two experienced opponents around level 38 through instinctive coordination. Their familiar fighting arrangement—Dai shielding the front while Zhu struck from behind—stirred memories in both of them 40.
With Li mediating a conversation in the Wisteria Grove, Zhu Zhuqing recognized Dai Mubai as her childhood “Sister Mu.” They embraced and wept, ending years of separation and Dai’s belief that Zhu had died. Dai then became Li’s disciple as well, seeking to remain beside Zhu and protect her 40 41.
All Living Beings Secret Realm
Inside the secret realm, Zhu Zhuqing fought through stealth and assassination before regrouping with Tang San and Xiao Wu. She later left them to search for Dai Mubai, accepting concealed weapons from Tang San for protection 63 64.
After finding Dai, she confronted Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun alongside her. Zhu wounded Zhuyun with Netherworld Slash, then used Dai’s arm as a launching platform to strike Weisi with Netherworld Deathblow. Their teamwork defeated both opponents 70.
Zhu interrogated Dai Weisi and forced him to confess the plot behind their childhood separation. After Dai rejected her brother and renounced the Star Luo Empire, Zhu executed Weisi at her command. Following Weisi and Zhuyun’s deaths, Zhu comforted Dai, and the pair left together. She later escaped the realm with the other disciples before it closed 71 72 73.
Appearance
Zhu Zhuqing has a slender but powerful build, long ink-black hair, very pale skin, and dark eyes. Her expression and bearing are repeatedly described as cold or frostlike 27.
- Clothing: A fitted black combat outfit gathered neatly at the cuffs and ankles; close-fitting, narrow-sleeved clothes for training 27 34.
- Facial features: Slender brows and eyes, with loose strands of hair framing her cheeks 27.
- Martial-soul possession: Black cat ears, a long sleek tail, vertical pupils, and claw blades 28 36.
- Movement: Quiet, supple, and catlike, particularly when slipping through wooded shadows 34.
Personality
Zhu Zhuqing is reserved, terse, and outwardly aloof, but her goals are straightforward. She trains independently, dislikes lessons that offer too little practical instruction, and eagerly accepts useful criticism. Her composure can conceal nervousness: before her first arena match, she repeatedly pinches her sleeve despite maintaining a calm expression 33 34 39.
She is shy when seeking personal attention or further guidance, yet stubborn once challenged. Tang San’s attempt to undermine her confidence strengthens her determination rather than making her retreat. Once convinced of Li Hanqiu’s ability, she commits to discipleship without hesitation 35 36.
Her ambition is rooted in loyalty rather than status. She wants to repay the protection she received as a child, worries about Dai Mubai even when others consider Dai strong enough to manage alone, and openly defends her against Ning Rongrong. Against enemies, however, she can be ruthless, using lethal ambushes and coercive violence to obtain the truth about her past 35 45 63 64 71.
Abilities & Skills
Hell Spirit Cat
Her martial soul supports an agility-based fighting style built around speed, claws, and silent positioning 28 29.
- Possession produces feline ears, a tail, vertical pupils, and claw blades 28 36.
- Uses rapid approaches, feints, and flank attacks rather than direct contests of strength 29 36.
- Targets vulnerable areas such as the eyes, throat, heart, and neck 29.
- Poisonous smoke can impair her vision and suppress her soul power; she demonstrates no resistance to her arena opponent’s mist 39.
Netherworld Hundred Claws
Her second soul skill delivers repeated, high-speed claw attacks. Against Dai Weisi, she uses it to strike his waist and abdomen from the flank while Dai Mubai attacks from the front 70.
- Combines rapid movement with a barrage of claw strikes 36 70.
- Initially uses less than half its power because she fears losing control and compromising her maneuvering 36.
- Li Hanqiu identifies precise strength control—not a lack of aggression—as the main weakness she must correct 36.
Netherworld Slash
Her third soul skill releases dark-purple soul power into a cutting attack 70.
- Tears a bloody wound across Zhu Zhuyun’s shoulder 70.
- Activates her purple ring before the claw strike that executes Dai Weisi 71.
Netherworld Deathblow: Soul-Suppressing Frenzied Claws
A self-created soul skill used as a decisive aerial claw barrage 70.
- Dai Mubai launches her from her arm, accelerating Zhu toward Dai Weisi 70.
- Lands repeated strikes before White Tiger Meteor Shower fully descends, sending Weisi crashing down with severe facial injuries 70.
- Applies Li Hanqiu’s teaching that an agility attacker must commit to a decisive strike 70.
Stealth and Team Combat
Zhu Zhuqing excels at exploiting openings created by allies and approaching opponents without sound 29 40 63.
- Coordinates flank attacks with Tang San’s battlefield control during Zhao Wuji’s assessment 29.
- Functions as Dai Mubai’s concealed attacker while Dai holds the front and protects her from counterattacks 40.
- Assassinates opponents from the shadows inside the secret realm 63.
Soul Marks
She studies soul-mark fundamentals under Tang San and Xiao Wu after joining Li Hanqiu’s school 43.
- Is included among Li’s seven disciples who have mastered their soul-mark techniques by Chapter 53 53.
- At that time, the disciples have made little progress with Martial Soul Avatar Armor 53.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Claw blades — Her principal close-range weapons during martial-soul combat 36 70.

- Tang San — Senior fellow disciple and initial rival for Li’s attention. Tries to deter her from discipleship, but later supports her independent journey with concealed weapons 36 64.
- Xiao Wu — Senior fellow disciple and companion. Enthusiastically admires her catlike possession and is disappointed when Zhu leaves their secret-realm group 28 64.
