After killing Mi Honggang, Nie Yun left the Linglong Immortal Sect to search for his family and entered the Sword God Sect’s trial under a false identity. The trial sent him and Ye Jianxing into Tianyou Valley, where they crossed into the demon domain and fought Bone Soldiers, leaving Nie Yun with a new sword art and Ye Jianxing questioning whether a corpse belonged to Uncle Wenxu.

• Nie Yun killed Mi Honggang by sending Demon Nether Saliva through his palm, then became a Guest Elder of the Linglong Immortal Sect.
• Nie Yun left the sect, met a wine-loving fortune-teller in Baiye City, and learned about the Teleportation Array at Tianyou Valley.
• Disguised as Tong Yun, Nie Yun joined Ye Jianxing for the Sword God Trial and mastered all nine forms of the Fanyun Swordplay.
• After hostile contestants targeted them, Ye Jianxing used a Sky Shifting Talisman to take himself and Nie Yun to the Burial Ground in Tianyou Valley.
• Nie Yun and Ye Jianxing disguised themselves as demonfolk, followed a group carrying a Bronze Coffin, and entered the Demon Luo Nether Domain.
• Five Bone Soldiers attacked Nie Yun and Ye Jianxing for their sword arts, but the two defeated them after Nie Yun used Demon Venerable Luotian’s corpse to break the leader’s attack.
• Nie Yun absorbed golden Essence of Martial Skill from the Bone Soldier leader’s bones and gained mastery of the Great Sorrow Seven Immortal Sword, while Ye Jianxing recognized a nearby weapon as Uncle Wenxu’s.

Nie Yun and Ye Jianxing uncovered Xie Zhanghuizi’s connection to Chen Wenxu and defeated the White-Bearded Man, but Xie sacrificed herself to claim the Netherworld Sword. Back in the Medicine Domain, Nie Yun stole Chu Yang’s tokens, while Ye Jianxing pursued his own path and Nie Yun prepared to take Zong Yan’s tokens.

• Ye Jianxing buried Chen Wenxu’s bones after Nie Yun returned his sword, and the two found the Fox Demon Race confronting the White-Bearded Man, Demon Corpse, and Su Guo over the Netherworld Sword.
• Xie Zhanghuizi summoned the Netherworld Sword, but the White-Bearded Man used the Blood Spirit Essence to destroy its spirituality and turned against her and her allies.
• Nie Yun and Ye Jianxing joined the fight, and Nie Yun killed Su Guo and Demon Corpse before the White-Bearded Man seized the sword and grievously injured Ye Jianxing.
• Nie Yun fought the White-Bearded Man with Demon Venerable Luotian’s corpse and twelve puppets, while Ye Jianxing told Xie Zhanghuizi that Chen Wenxu was dead and had been murdered by the Fox Demon Race’s Grand Elder.
• Xie Zhanghuizi entered the Netherworld Sword and erased the Blood Spirit, killing the White-Bearded Man, before the sword recognized Nie Yun as its master through Chen Wenxu’s Essence of Martial Skill.
• Nie Yun buried Xie Zhanghuizi beside Chen Wenxu, then followed the Netherworld Sword through a seal into the Medicine Domain with Ye Jianxing.
• Nie Yun stole Chu Yang’s 147 jade tokens and gave Ye Jianxing seventy-three, but Ye Jianxing returned them and left to win tokens through his own efforts.
• Nie Yun mastered the sword arts with help from Chen Wenxu’s Essence of Martial Skill, then tracked down Zong Yan and prepared to steal his tokens with the Purple Splendor Cave Mansion as Zong Yan sensed someone nearby.

Nie Yun helped Ye Jianxing through the Sword God Trial and the Sword Spirit Peak treasure hunt, while concealing his identity and collecting rare treasures. At Sword God Hall, Zong Yan accused Nie Yun of being a Poison Master, and Mi Hua’s intervention led to a demand that Nie Yun prove he was human.

• Nie Yun helped Ye Jianxing escape Zong Yan’s attack, gave him stolen jade tokens, and infused him with Chen Wenxu’s Essence of Martial Skill.
• The Sword God Trial ended with Nie Yun first and Ye Jianxing second, while Zong Yan and Chu Yang accused each other of stealing their jade tokens.
• Zong An and Zong Yan suspected Nie Yun was a Poison Master and planned to target him during the Sword Spirit Peak assessment.
• Nie Yun helped Ye Jianxing raid the Flame Unicorn’s herb garden, then risked his life to seize the Blazing Flame Fire Bamboo Shoot from the Golden Light Wind Thunder Beast and killed both beasts.
• Nie Yun gathered Golden Stalk Grass and other herbs, then secretly took the Golden Mane Iron Back Beast’s corpse while Ye Jianxing and the others fought over it.
• At Sword God Hall, Zong Yan accused Nie Yun of poisoning the beast, and Yun Xuan challenged Nie Yun to prove he was not a Poison Master or swallow poison.
• Mi Hua explained that some talents belonged to both humans and demonfolk, but Zong An demanded that Nie Yun demonstrate a human-exclusive talent or swallow the Sect Master’s poison.

Nie Yun was framed for stealing the Sword God's Sword, escaped the Sword God Sect, and survived Mi Hua and Yun Xuan’s attempt to capture him. After strengthening his soul and body, he returned to the sect and infiltrated the Heaven Grade Zone, where he found Ying Long undergoing a trial.

• Yun Xuan named Ying Long the Sword God Trial champion, and Nie Yun was sent with the other finalists to the Sword Hall’s Earth Grade Zone.
• Mo Xiang’s Light Seeking Mirror revealed the Sword God's Sword in Nie Yun’s Storage Dantian, so the Enforcement Team seized him and took him for interrogation.
• Nie Yun killed his captors, escaped underground, and slipped out of the Sword God Sect while Mo Xiang and another expert pursued false trails.
• In Qianye City, Nie Yun recognized Mi Hua and Yun Xuan as the attackers who had framed him, but Old Drunkard intervened and forced them to leave.
• Nie Yun killed the Poison Hand King’s consciousness with the Thunderous Golden Body, refined the Peerless Pill, and burned away Mi Hua and Yun Xuan’s Soul Imprints.
• Nie Yun strengthened his body with the Blazing Flame Fire Bamboo Shoot, then returned to the Sword God Sect and entered the Sword Hall disguised as Elder Ni Xu.
• Nie Yun’s Earth Walking Qi let him merge into the wall and evade Yun Xuan, after which he entered the Heaven Grade Zone and saw Ying Long kneeling beneath a statue during a trial.
