Nie Yun infiltrated the Sword God Sect, uncovered Yun Xuan’s betrayal of Thousand Illusions, and was sent with Ye Jianxing into the Sacrifice Ground. There, Nie Yun awakened his Sword Dao Dantian’s third form, but the Ba left him and Ye Jianxing gravely wounded as an enormous heart appeared above him.

• Nie Yun advanced his Divine Thief Dantian, stole the Sword God’s Sword, and framed Ni Xu before Yun Xuan trapped him inside the sect’s Killing Array.
• Nie Yun disguised himself as Wen Chao, passed Yun Xuan’s loyalty tests, and entered the Sword God Trial, while Black Rock received an ancestral sword inheritance.
• Nie Yun captured Ying Long, who confessed that Yun Xuan had used him to poison Thousand Illusions and had sent him to search the Sacrifice Ground for an ancestor’s corpse.
• Yun Xuan forced Nie Yun and Ye Jianxing to swallow Golden Silk Illusion Heart Gu and sent them into the Sacrifice Ground to retrieve Feng Ge’s corpse.

Nie Yun defeated Yun Xuan’s forces, became the Sword God Sect’s Sect Master, and uncovered new powers while settling the sect’s affairs. After learning his parents were at the Huayun Sect, he set out to find them as Yun Xuan vowed to kill him.

• The Sword God's Heart merged into Nie Yun and helped him drive back the Drought Demon, but Yun Xuan arrived with the Sect Master's Seal and demanded the Sword God's treasures.
• Thousand Illusions revealed himself and freed Nie Yun, while Chen Wenxu joined the Sword God's Sword as its spirit and enabled Nie Yun to refine it.
• Nie Yun defeated Yun Xuan and the Drought Demon, stripped away Yun Xuan’s cultivation, and let her escape after Thousand Illusions pleaded for mercy.
• Nie Yun agreed to become Sword God Sect Sect Master, killed the revived White Fiend Ba King, and learned from Thousand Illusions that his parents were at the Huayun Sect.

• Nie Yun taught the Supreme Elders about the Dantian Acupoint Realm, learned that Ancestor Xu Yun was hidden in space-time, and left for the Huayun Sect to seek his parents as Yun Xuan vowed to kill him.

Nie Yun fought Mi Jing in a strange realm, completed his fourth Nirvana, and escaped through a spatial rift after recovering Nie Tong’s corpse. He hatched a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, reached Xuanjin City, confronted Huayun Sect disciples from his past, and ended the stretch spying on Hu Kui beside a Buddha Bone Sarira.

• Ancestor Xu Yun destroyed Yun Xuan’s sea of qi after she accused Nie Yun of seizing the Sword God Sect, then went to meet him.
• Mi Jing pursued Nie Yun through Beichen City and the surrounding wilderness until a fissure swallowed them both.
• Nie Yun and Mi Jing found the Nine Dragons Pulling Carriage in a bizarre realm, where Nie Yun absorbed Dragon’s Grudge and reached the peak of the Domain Realm.
• Nie Yun restrained Mi Jing in the Purple Splendor Cave Mansion and began his fourth Nirvana beside Dragon’s Grudge and the Drought Demon’s core.
• After completing his fourth Nirvana, Nie Yun learned that Mi Hua’s Soul Imprint had let Mi Jing track him and burned the imprint in Nie Tong’s body.
• Nie Yun recovered Nie Tong’s corpse while the sphere and enormous corpse fought, then escaped through a spatial rift with Mi Jing’s help, though they were separated.
• Nie Yun survived the Void Breaking Tribulation with help from a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon that hatched in his cave mansion and called him Daddy.
• In Xuanjin City, Nie Yun recognized Hu Kui and Zang Hongyi as betrayers from his past, fought Huayun Sect disciples, and later found Hu Kui cultivating beside a Buddha Bone Sarira.

Nie Yun stole treasures from Hu Kui and Zang Hongyi, killed them, and entered Huayun Sect under the name Yun Feng. After defending the new disciples from veteran alliances, he agreed to lead the newly formed Fengyun Alliance, while Xiao Ling and Ge Huan left with threats of a future contest.

• Nie Yun stole Hu Kui’s Buddha Bone Sarira and the mine’s Peerless Spirit Stones, then took the Prayer Beads from Hu Kui during their battle in the Void Breaking Mountain Chart.
• Nie Yun fused the sarira and Prayer Beads during a breakthrough, killed Hu Kui and Zang Hongyi, and fled Xuanjin City with Little Dragon.
• Nie Yun joined Huayun Sect as Yun Feng, won his assessment bouts, and learned that the Ghost Mist Underworld Sea trial would take place in three days.
• Nie Yun secretly left Earth Vein Crystal Stones and Earth Vein Crystal Marrow for Tantai Lingyue, then returned to his courtyard and faced disciples demanding his treasures and allegiance.
• Nie Yun defeated Tie He and the Lingtian Alliance disciples, crippled their leaders, and hung the veterans from a tree as a warning.
• Xiao Ling and Ge Huan confronted Nie Yun with their followers, but Nie Yun seized their disciples and demanded compensation before Xiao Feng emerged and injured both alliance leaders.
