The passage leading to the Plane Battlefield was not very long. Before long, the three of them had walked through it and entered another plane in an instant.
Immense gravity immediately pressed down on Sean. It was far stronger than in the Netherworld, and when he spread out his divine sense, he discovered that its range was also ten times smaller than in the Netherworld—only around ten thousand meters.
"The gravity on the Plane Battlefield far exceeds that of the Netherworld. Sean, get used to it first," Audebeu reminded him. "Also, divine sense only reaches about a hundred meters here. It's basically useless, not as useful as your eyes."
"Mm, thanks for the reminder." Sean nodded.
No matter how strange the Plane Battlefield was, it did not affect the eyes of God-level experts. With unobstructed terrain, a God-level expert could easily see scenes tens of thousands of miles away.
In that sense, even in the Netherworld, one's eyes were much more useful. Or rather, through one's understanding of energy, even the slightest fluctuation from far away could be sensed.
The army had only just entered the battlefield when the Commanders' tents were quickly set up. Nearly sixty Commanders had entered on the Netherworld's side, and over the next thousand years, perhaps more would arrive.
"Let's go, Sean." Audebeu said excitedly. "Let the specialized Commanders handle preparations for the battlefield. We should go hunt Commanders instead."
"Fine." Sean agreed as well. There was no point staying here.
The three of them headed out of the camp together. Barren Gobi Desert stretched across the entire Plane Battlefield, with barely any vegetation in sight. After walking for quite some time, Sean said, "There's nobody here at all. Should we head to the other side of the Star River?"
His divine sense extended ten thousand meters, a hundred times farther than that of an ordinary Highgod. But compared to the size of the Plane Battlefield, that range was still insignificant.
"It's only been two months, Sean. Don't be impatient." Audebeu smiled. "The Plane Battlefield has only just begun. Even if many people are prepared to come out, they won't act immediately.
"I brought you out to familiarize you with the surrounding terrain and see where would be suitable for hiding. Many Commanders like to hide, and those are our targets. They're just harder to find. Those without weaknesses, or those who form teams, are almost impossible to kill."
"That's true." Sean asked again, "Does the terrain of the Plane Battlefield change every time?"
He also knew how difficult it was to kill a peak Commander. Take Tashan, for example. If his Soul Seed had not been so heaven-defying, his Soul Attack could at most have injured him. Killing him in one move would have been difficult, and afterward, the man could simply flee.
Tashan nodded. "That's right, it changes. There are earthquakes in the Netherworld too, but most places are maintained by God-level experts, especially experts who cultivate the Earth Law.
"But if it's a wilderness, it will still change over countless hundreds of millions of years. No one enters the Plane Battlefield for a trillion years, so naturally its terrain changes."
"So that's how it is." Sean had just been about to continue chatting when he suddenly stopped and looked toward the front left.
"What is it?" Audebeu noticed the change in Sean's expression as well.
"There's a faint fluctuation of soul aura over there." Sean pointed in the direction he was looking. "I'm extremely sensitive to soul auras. I shouldn't be wrong. It's behind that rocky hill."
In truth, his divine sense had detected someone there. With his Three-element Soul Mutation, his divine sense was of little use when everyone was using Sovereign's Might.
But under normal circumstances, he possessed inexhaustible divine sense that others could not detect. That was his greatest advantage. Even Leis Jing, who never lacked Sovereign's Might, could not compare, because the energy fluctuations of Sovereign's Might could spread for tens of thousands of miles and would only draw powerful enemies.
Of course, compared to a Paragon, he was still far inferior.
"Good. We'll surround him from three directions. Anyone hiding like this usually isn't a peak expert. As long as we trap him, we'll have a chance to kill him." Audebeu said excitedly.
The three immediately split up, approaching from three directions at angles of one hundred and twenty degrees to encircle the area behind the rocky hill. Sean had already locked onto the man with his divine sense. Once he drew near and saw that the other two were in position, he waved a signal and, with a thought, released a vast amount of gray mist.
The man hiding in the cave was in seclusion, controlling a distant Death God Puppet, when he suddenly felt a trace of numbness in his soul. His eyes snapped open.
"Soul Poison Gas?"
The man's face changed drastically. Knowing he had been discovered, he immediately erupted with dazzling white light and charged toward another exit from the cave.
A crafty rabbit had three burrows. Since he had set up an ambush here, he had naturally prepared an escape route long ago.
"Haha, Livas, stop running. Stay here today, will you?" Audebeu's voice was filled with amusement.
"Audebeu?" Livas's expression changed drastically upon hearing the voice, but he did not answer. His task now was to flee. He was extremely fast, and ordinary Commanders could not catch him at all.
"Retreat."
A massive fireball scorched the rocks and directly surrounded Livas. Torres's Sovereign Artifact warblade chopped straight down at Livas's head.
Naturally, Livas would not wait to die. He raised the light sword in his hand and struck the fire-element Sovereign Artifact.
The tremendous force sent him flying, but a gray-black spear immediately appeared behind him.
Livas roared in fury as countless threads of light shot out from his body, directly entangling the black Sovereign Artifact. Though they were quickly torn apart, they still shifted it slightly off course. The spear pierced straight through Livas's left arm, but that also allowed him to escape the encirclement.
"I got out!" Livas was overjoyed, but several Soul Attacks suddenly shot toward him.
"Soul Attacks? I'm not afraid of them." Livas likewise fired several white rays. The Light Law was also skilled in Soul Attacks.
In midair, gray and white soul power collided, and the white soul power was directly annihilated.
"How is this possible?" Livas nearly cried out in shock, but he had no time to react. He immediately activated a drop of Light Sovereign Power within his body.
"Haha, Livas, what difference does it make when everyone uses Sovereign's Might?"
The other two, who had caught up from behind, also unleashed Sovereign's Might. One black and one red attack flew toward Livas, while Sean likewise used Sovereign's Might and launched his strongest Soul Attack once more.
Whoosh! The gray Soul Attack smashed through everything and struck Livas directly. His body paused, but he quickly resumed fighting Audebeu and Torres.
Trying to kill other Commanders with Soul Attacks really is difficult. Sean sighed inwardly.
Without Sovereign's Might, his advantage was enormous. But since everyone had it, only the gap in profound mysteries remained. Though he was somewhat stronger, he still could not kill his opponent.
Before Beirut appeared, many people did not want Soul Defense Lord God Artifacts precisely because of this.
"Haha, you can't escape now." Audebeu's attacks were terrifying, tearing apart the space of the Plane Battlefield, while the faster Torres coordinated with him.
Pfft! The spear directly shattered Livas's head, exposing the divine spark within.
A Commander from the Light God Realm had fallen just like that.
