Kroya carefully placed the emblem formed from tricolored flowers and light like a winding river at the very center of the magic array.
Beside him, the angel continued explaining, "In the worldview of the Dragonkind on the Semrio Continent, the foundation of the world is an immense World Tree."
The branches representing the World Tree on the magic array gradually flickered with radiance. Ancient, majestic flower vines and tendrils formed the array's foundation.
The radiance took shape very slowly, like the progress bar when downloading an enormous archive back in the day, so Kroya only glanced at it a few times before focusing on the angel's explanation.
"The World Tree itself represents infinite laws of causality and the ultimate manifestation of the mysteries of space. It is the oldest spatial magic, without exception."
"My friend, you must learn more about the World Tree.
Now that you have reached the rank of a Level Five Mage, you should consider giving magic your own personal touch, especially spatial magic."
"Why spatial magic in particular?" Kroya asked curiously. "I've looked at the Mage Association's courses. When mages research magic on their own, they usually start with elemental magic."
In fact, he was already trying to modify basic elemental magic using his own knowledge and inspiration gained from magical beasts and magic plants, and he had achieved considerable results.
A competent mage did indeed need a magical system of their own. The knowledge and incantations they had previously learned were merely a foundation. What mattered most was researching and developing something of their own from that foundation.
Elemental magic, with its infinite possibilities, was naturally the first choice. Anyone who mastered it thoroughly was guaranteed the title of master mage.
As for spatial magic... even for someone like Kroya, who had someone-an angel-to guide
