Hu Xiaotian survived the Dragon Spirit Wonderland and navigated Great Kang’s political conflicts while investigating the Skulls, the Heavenly Mystery Hall, and the forces behind several attacks. The volume ended with Xia Changming recovering from an ambush and Hu Xiaotian preparing to pursue those responsible.

Arc 65The Dragon Spirit Wonderland

Hu Xiaotian and Qin Yutong survived the Dragon Spirit Wonderland, while Quan Dean died and Ren Tianqing escaped. Back in Great Kang, Hu Xiaotian joined Qiqi and Hong Beimo against the growing threats, then investigated the Heavenly Mystery Hall and found a deadly ice cellar.

  • Qiqi and Hu Xiaotian admitted their feelings, and she warned him of a possible ambush before arranging his meeting with Quan Dean at the Dragon Spirit Wonderland.
  • Hu Xiaotian, Qin Yutong, Quan Dean, Meizhuang, and Ren Tianqing clashed over the Skull, and Ren Tianqing escaped with it after disabling Quan Dean.
  • Trapped in the Wonderland, Hu Xiaotian and Qin Yutong used the Heavenly Myriad Forms Diagram and a Lightsaber blast to escape through a fissure into the Jade Pool.

Arc 66Skulls, Secrets, and Envoys

Hu Xiaotian navigated Great Kang’s dealings with Great Yong and Black Hu while searching for answers about Qiqi’s mother and protecting Qiqi from Ji Feihua. He reunited with Huo Xiaoru and learned that Rong Shi’s past and a skull from Dragon Spirit Wonderland were tied to a new bargain.

  • Hu Xiaotian learned that Yuanmu would trade information about Ling Jiazi for Emperor Taizong’s handwritten Heart Sutra, and Qiqi revealed she could reproduce it from memory.
  • After Quan Dean’s death, Qiqi ordered his cremation and halted the Dragon Spirit Wonderland search while Hu Xiaotian took charge of receiving Great Yong and Black Hu’s envoys.

Arc 67The Skull and the Princess

Hu Xiaotian pursued the stolen skull and the forces behind the attack on the Heavenly Secrets Bureau while Princess Xima’s disappearance heightened tensions between Great Kang and Black Hu. After defeating Gang Baduo and Bu Buma, he formed an alliance with Hong Beimo and continued investigating Xiang Shancong and Xue Shengjing.

  • Meizhuang attacked Xiang Shancong after admitting she had tried to use Rong Shi and the hidden secret to blackmail Wuji Monastery, while Ji Feihua arranged for Hu Xiaotian to distract Xiang and escape with Rong Shi.
  • Hu Xiaotian learned from Ji Feihua that Xue Shengjing might be connected to Black Hu and the Immortal Envoys, and he told Murong Zhan that Eunuch Li had been Murong’s birth father.

Hu Xiaotian uncovered the Seven-Treasure Glazed Pagoda’s secrets, pursued the skulls and navigated shifting family and political ties. The stretch ended with Xia Changming surviving an ambush and Hu Xiaotian preparing to pursue those responsible.

  • Hu Xiaotian learned from Liu Yuzhang that the two Skulls were keys to the Underground Palace and that Liu had taken one from the Seven-Treasure Glazed Pagoda.
