"Sure. That should be the best plan for Epiphaneia, too. The main question now is which race to run in the first half of his three-year-old season."
Megumi Mitsumori twirled the pen in her hand.
Epiphaneia's main route would naturally remain much the same, but they still needed to see how he performed as a three-year-old.
They also needed to enter the races in advance.
"Why don't we go straight for the Yayoi Sho in March?"
Koichi already had an answer in mind.
The Yayoi Sho at Nakayama was over two thousand meters, followed by the Satsuki Sho at the same course.
Epiphaneia had recovered well lately, and he already had some experience with that sort of transport.
"Yes, the Yayoi Sho should be fine."
Megumi Mitsumori had no objections either.
There were only so many races they could run in the first half of the year anyway, and Epiphaneia had earned enough prize money in the second half of the previous year.
The Yayoi Sho would let them assess Epiphaneia's performance over two thousand meters at Nakayama while also securing priority entry.
Although their prize money was certainly sufficient, having priority entry was always better.
"Then let's enter the Yayoi Sho first. That'll let us work out when Epiphaneia should return to training."
The races afterward would be much the same as before.
The Satsuki Sho, the Derby, then a summer break.
"What about Gold Ship?"
Megumi Mitsumori finished making her notes. Naturally, handling the arrangements afterward would fall to her.
When she went back to visit Man o' War, she could also stop by Hokkai Ranch to see Epiphaneia and Gold Ship.
Those two were her star contenders.
"For Gold Ship, the main targets in the first half of the year are definitely the
