Li Wei frowned at the quest prompts before him.
Did the system assume this thing couldn't be killed? Or was I just not strong enough to take it down yet?
Then again, I don't even know what this thing actually is.
Whatever. I'll fight it first!
At that thought, Li Wei willed the Mecha Doll into motion again, curling his fingers slightly. Following his movement, the enormous Mecha Doll threw a punch at the divine statue, driving its fist straight toward its chest.
Facing the Mecha Doll's attack, the statue hurriedly retreated. Its starfish-like head swayed, and its eight tentacles abruptly closed around the Mecha Doll's fist, clamping down tight.
At the same time, that voice rang out again.
"Crude! Utterly crude! An actor who refuses to follow the script has no respect for the performance or their own duties!"
I never said I wanted to be an actor.
Li Wei snarked inwardly, but his hands never stopped. He abruptly swept his left hand forward, and the Mecha Doll extended its own left hand. With a click, a dagger-like blade shot out from behind its forearm. The Mecha Doll caught it in a reverse grip and slashed hard at the statue!
Clang!
A heavy impact rang out. The Mecha Doll's dagger struck the statue's surface, only to slide off without leaving so much as a scratch. Silver shouldn't have been that hard, but judging by its performance, this thing seemed even tougher than an alloy.
Is this the power of a god? What a pain!
Li Wei continued directing the Mecha Doll's attacks while considering his options. This was his first time fighting a god face-to-face. Although this god had only descended into a statue,
