Arc 9The Sutra at Xiangshan

Yi Shuyuan crafted magical garments, helped establish Jiang Lang’s Water Palace, and resumed traveling with Stoneborn. At Xiangshan Zen Temple, his teaching drew Ding Feixiong toward Buddhism and into a clash with the authorities, while Yi Shuyuan’s meeting with Duan Silie revived the trail of Long Feiyang.

  • Yi Shuyuan captured a colorful spirit-aura cloud, visited Zhuo Qing’s village, and worked with her to weave the Rosy Cloud Feather Garment and other magical clothes.
  • General Crab told Yi Shuyuan that the Celestial Court planned to appoint him Kaiyang Water God, and Yi Shuyuan encouraged him to accept and protect the canal.
  • Jiang Lang’s people completed a Water Palace with Dai Zhong’s help, and Yi Shuyuan visited the palace after sensing incense offerings at a statue made in his likeness.
  • Yi Shuyuan resumed traveling with Stoneborn and Hui Mian, encountered Jiao Zengping’s dangerous walking corpse, and received the Peerless Elixir Art before secretly treating Jiao’s elixir poison.

Arc 10The Cloud Emerald Search

Yi Shuyuan forged Stoneborn’s immortal foundation and a new furnace, then helped Xu Zichang pursue his junior brother Gongsun Yin through Zheng Ying’s painting realm. The group reached Mist Village inside the realm, but had not yet found Gongsun Yin.

  • Yi Shuyuan defeated Monk Wufa, helped secure his ordination, and left Xiangshan Monastery with Stoneborn as imperial orders sent rewards and an invitation to the Capital City.
  • Yi A Bao’s friends discovered Yi Shuyuan’s damaged calligraphy, and their attempts to preserve it brought them into contact with Xu Zichang, who became obsessed with the work and its creator.
  • Yi Shuyuan returned to his family, then took Stoneborn to Broad South Mountain, where Stoneborn forged his immortal foundation as Yi Shuyuan and his allies completed the Heaven-Turning Furnace through a Rainwater Tribulation.

Yi Shuyuan and his companions passed through Gongsun Yin’s Cave Painting Realm, while Stoneborn and Hui Mian became entangled in a conflict with Dragonkind. Hong Wei’s attempt to claim the Datong River caused a devastating flood, which Yi Shuyuan helped bring under control.

  • Yi Shuyuan guided Xu Zichang and Gongsun Yin through the changing world of Mist Village, where Gongsun Yin faced the Snow Python and overcame his tribulation before the group left the Cave Painting Realm.
  • Yi Shuyuan examined Gongsun Yin’s damaged heart’s aperture and advised him to form a cultivation method from his tribulation insights, while Stoneborn and Hui Mian set out for Moon Province.

Arc 12Flood, Plague, and Investiture

Yi Shuyuan uncovered Hong Wei’s role in the flood, helped bring him to judgment, and joined Lingdong’s efforts against a devastating plague. After arranging Teng Fu’s investiture as Heavenly Battle Mountain’s god, Yi Shuyuan returned to Lingdong to bring rain as drought and locusts threatened the region.

  • Hong Wei confessed to Hong Jun that he had caused the flood, then returned to the Datong River to help control it while Yi Shuyuan waited for evidence of his guilt.
  • Chu Hang found a Land God statue bearing a message that a dragon’s claw had killed its owner, and Yi Shuyuan learned that Hong Jun had murdered the Land God to hide Hong Wei’s crime.
  • The Celestial Court captured Hong Wei and sentenced him to execution, but its weapons failed until Yi Shuyuan transformed into the True Lord of Luminous Spirit and killed him, beheading Hong Jun at the same moment.
  • As plague threatened Zhao Province, Yi Shuyuan worked with Wan Shixing and local physicians to organize care, while Qi Zhongbin used a Vital Essence Pill to protect the city’s water supply.
  • Chu Hang led more than a thousand people to haul Tan Yuanshang’s supply ships through the shallows, and Yi Shuyuan and the physicians eradicated the plague across Lingdong.
