They had heard people from other sects mention this last night. Unlike Mount Wukang, those sects had done some advance research before sending their disciples to the gathering. There were no snakes, insects, rats, or ants in the Moon Sea, let alone wild beasts. It seemed there were no native animals at all, but there did seem to be some kind of monster.
Ordinary people apparently had no idea what these monsters were. Even the organizers only said there was danger, without explaining exactly what that danger was.
Wu Jinliang quickly stood back-to-back with him. "So either someone's been here, or a monster has."
Shi Chun kept a wary eye on their surroundings. "I'd rather it was a monster."
As he spoke, he channeled his blood energy and activated his Right-Eye Ability again. He looked around, checking repeatedly, but saw no monsters. Instead, he noticed something interesting for the first time: the pale, misty outline of Yan Ji's body in his right eye had grown very faint, as though it was about to dissipate completely.
From this, he could roughly surmise that once someone had been dead for a certain amount of time, his right eye could no longer see them.
"My right eye doesn't see anything nearby. Whatever it was should be gone," Shi Chun told him briefly, knowing he would understand without further explanation.
Wu Jinliang relaxed a little at that. "What do we do with Yan Ji?"
Shi Chun said, "It's too late to worry now. Deal with him as usual. You do it, I'll keep watch."
Knowing that Shi Chun's eye could see things ordinary people could not, Wu Jinliang immediately got to work. First, he looted Yan Ji's body, then treated him just as he had Guan Wen: he chopped off his hand, removed the
