"Quick, look here!" someone suddenly called from behind.
Everyone turned to see a man standing before an ice cave, waving his Sandalwood Gold Flame Aura. He seemed to have discovered something, and they all darted over.
The cave entrance wound downward. The interior, inaccessible by a straight path, was fairly spacious, easily accommodating at least a dozen people. Inside stood an ice bed covered with a heap of assorted clothes. A man in armor sat cross-legged atop it, his hair and beard long and tangled, his body shriveled, his face coated with frost.
One glance was enough to tell he was dead.
They gathered closer to examine him. Someone said in puzzlement, "He looks like one of the Heavenly Court's men."
Another pointed at the design of the armor clasps. "Not from the current dynasty. Looks like the previous one."
Those words silenced everyone at once.
Bian Weiying suddenly tilted her head, then reached out and picked up a garment spread before the frozen corpse. Only then did everyone notice the faint writing on it, so inconspicuous they would have missed it without looking carefully. A woman's eye for detail, indeed.
After carefully deciphering the writing, they discovered that their companion had been right. He really had served the previous dynasty's Heavenly Court.
