A group of Regional Lords who had set out later had already reached the city wall ahead of Shi Chun and the others.
In a place like this, especially atop the heavily guarded walls of Urn City, most people were forbidden even to approach, let alone climb up. These Regional Lords were clearly exempt from those restrictions.
From the battlements, they saw the members of the various sects in the open grounds below, as well as Shi Chun and the others emerging from the Xun Gate.
Behind them, at the foot of the wall, Young Master Nan arrived afterward despite having set out first. An Armored Guard accompanied him, though no one knew where he had found the man.
The Armored Guard produced a Command Token and handed it to the guards below for inspection. After some negotiation, permission was granted, and Young Master Nan was allowed up onto the wall.
The Regional Lords atop the wall did not seem surprised to see Young Master Nan appear there.
Young Master Nan nodded and bowed repeatedly as he greeted the Regional Lords, keeping his manner suitably humble.
The Regional Lords acknowledged him with slight nods to varying degrees, and those who knew him better exchanged a word or two.
They all knew who Young Master Nan was. In terms of status and background, he was, in some respects, no less distinguished than they were, perhaps even more so. But this was no place for him to put on airs. Without a little humility, he truly had no business being here.
Everyone also understood why he had come.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Young Master Nan quickly turned his attention to Shi Chun at the Xun Gate, his eyes filling with anticipation and urgency.
