The competition began with Tong Mingshan trying to hide his strength, as old enemies and allies watched from across the Four Great Continents.

• Shi Chun emerged from the Divine Fire Domain with Zhen'er, Situ Gu, Young Master Nan, and his companions, while Mulan Jin announced that the Stargazing Pavilion intended to question him about the Demonic Path.
• Yan Ketao accused Shi Chun of manipulating the competition, but Jin Guiqi struck him down, and Shi Chun's group left through the Two-Realm Passage.
• After learning Tong Mingshan's fused fires appeared to be only four, Shi Chun registered him for the artifact-refining competition and challenged the elders to apply their inspection rules fairly.

The stretch ended with Shi Chun defying Gong Shaoci’s group and the Demonic Path preparing to complete the five-billion transaction.

• Tong Mingshan revealed his two true fires and devised a new method to refine an Exquisite Heart, while Li Hongjiu used a model-fusion technique and Luo Shengsheng pursued a True Nine-Aperture Exquisite Heart.
• Tong Mingshan endured the strain of refining his own True Nine-Aperture Exquisite Heart as Li Hongjiu and Luo Shengsheng advanced their attempts and exhausted themselves.
• The judges confirmed Tong Mingshan’s heart as an exceptional True Nine-Aperture Exquisite Heart, and Li Hongjiu conceded defeat after destroying his unfinished work.

• Huang Yingying told Wu Jinliang that Mei You had tried to manipulate Dong Wenshu’s library through Fan Wuzhe, then was captured by Mei You’s men after delivering spirit rice.
• Wu Jinliang rescued Huang Yingying from the assassins and learned that Huang knew how to make Death-Defying Incense, that its main ingredient grew on Divine Mountain, and that Huang descended from Jin Zhan.
• Shi Chun and Lou Xiu secretly arranged to exchange A-Xun’s belongings, while Lou Xiu replaced the originals and plotted a trap as Dazhi City investigated A-Xun’s murder.
• Shi Chun drugged Fan Wuzhe and used his Mother-Child Talisman to send him out of the city with a marked steed, letting Wu Jinliang retrieve the tracked goods and escape underground with Huang Yingying.
