Clearlight Peak, the great hall.
Xuan Cheng sat upright on the Cloud Bed, faint mist wreathing his body. He was contemplating the mysteries of divine abilities, trying to advance another step and solidify his foundation.
Suddenly, his mind jolted, and his eyes snapped open.
At some point, the hall doors had silently opened. A figure leaned against the doorframe, watching him with a radiant smile.
Her sunset-hued gown trailed across the floor, and her dark hair cascaded like a waterfall. Her eyes and brows brimmed with laughter, her every gesture steeped in allure.
True Lord Changle.
"Junior brother, it's been a long time." Her voice was gentle, like a spring breeze brushing his face.
Xuan Cheng's expression shifted slightly. "Senior Sister Chang Le, forgive me for not coming out to welcome your esteemed arrival. What brings you here?"
"Junior brother, aren't you being a little too distant?"
Chang Le walked leisurely over and sat opposite him, raising a hand to smooth the hair at her temple. "We've been fellow disciples for years. Do I really need a reason to come and see you?"
Xuan Cheng said flatly, "There are only the two of us here. Why play dumb, senior sister?"
"Oh, you really are clever." Chang Le smiled. "Since you've already guessed why I'm here, then..." As she spoke, she raised her hand and lightly traced her slender fingers through the air. The scene within the hall abruptly changed.
The hall, its pillars, its beaded curtains, its tassels... everything twisted, instantly dissolving into hazy light and shadow. Xuan Cheng's vision blurred. When he looked again, he stood amid a sea of pink clouds.
Celestial melodies drifted through the air, mingling with banquet music and song. Ravishing beauties murmured sweetly beside him, offering exquisite nectar, tugging at his heartstrings. What bliss.
