"You-!"
Liang Yuan's hair stood on end, and a bone-deep chill shot up his spine. He seemed to see a counterfeit identical to himself step out of a mirror, intent on taking his place.
His instincts told him that the counterfeit was a counterfeit now, but soon it would no longer be one.
"I am all beings, and I am you."
Chu Mo's voice drifted over, eerie and distant, setting alarm bells shrieking in Liang Yuan's heart. He wanted to avert his gaze from his other self, but his eyes were held fast by the other man, unable to shift even a fraction.
"What have you done to me?!"
At last, a trace of terror stirred in Liang Yuan, but it could no longer accomplish anything. His other self ignored him, merely continuing to imitate his voice, expressions, and mannerisms.
Time trickled away, and his consciousness sank little by little.
Who knew how long had passed-a day, or a month. At first, Liang Yuan had still shown terror and struggled to resist, but as time passed, he sank deeper and deeper.
Until, at a certain moment, a strange smile suddenly appeared on his face. Looking at his other self, he said, "So I am Du You, and Du You is me."
With that, his figure abruptly vanished, leaving only one "Liang Yuan" where he had stood.
Yuan Chen and the others, who had witnessed everything from the beginning, widened their eyes and stared at the "Liang Yuan" before them in utter horror, unable to speak.
They wanted to question him, wanted to know what had happened to the real Liang Yuan, but their mouths instinctively uttered:
"Liang Yuan, are you all right?!"
The next moment, their minds grew hazy, and they felt that the man before them was Liang Yuan.
