"No need for courtesy. Our two sects are branches of the same tree. This is only right."
Chu Mo grinned, revealing a neat row of white teeth that inexplicably sent a flutter of unease through Dan Jing. Fortunately, he soon changed the subject, asking with a smile, "I wonder how the Ancestral Vein and the others are doing?"
At that, Dan Jing looked toward the upper reaches of the Spirit Realm.
Destructive thunder roamed beneath the radiant Great Sun hanging high above. Blood-colored waterlight intertwined with it, forming a haze of primordial chaos. Another vast expanse of sea sought to crash into it, only to be barred by the clear radiance of a solitary moon.
"The Dragon Emperor may be powerful," Dan Jing said, withdrawing his gaze and shaking his head, "but with several Supreme Venerables there..." He stopped short, paused, then merely said, "We should suppress these Dragon Kings as quickly as possible. We cannot give the Dragon Emperor and Dragon Empress a chance to reclaim their ranks."
"Very well." Chu Mo's eyes shifted slightly, and he immediately chose his target.
High in the Spirit Realm, primordial chaos shrouded everything.
The Dragon Emperor stood within it, his robes stained with blood. Clearly, the encirclement had left him with considerable injuries. His icy gaze swept across the four figures surrounding him.
Sun Venerable Cen Xi, Thunder Ancestor Si Zhe, Great Evolution's Ancestor Luo, and Taichen Zhuhuan.
"Four Great Dao Venerables," the Dragon Emperor said slowly, his gaze lingering briefly on Cen Xi and Tai Chen. "My two old friends, you truly think highly of me, deploying such a grand force."
"You overstate things, fellow Daoist," Ancestor Luo replied with a faint smile. "Your strength is extraordinary, beyond anything ordinary people could compare with. Naturally, we must show you such respect."
