He seemed to really enjoy the feeling of the evening sunlight falling on him.

"Hey! Boss! Boss Dadan! Garp's grandson is back!"

Although Barn loved quietly enjoying a cup of tea alone in the evening glow, fate never seemed willing to let him have his way. Once again, the noise of the Dadan Family came from the main room.

"That boy Luffy is back."

Barn did not go out. He stayed where he was, smiled faintly, and took a sip of the rather inexpensive tea in his hand.

In the main room...

Dadan dragged a smug-looking Luffy over to the table, her face so stern that its wrinkles could have crushed a few unwary insects. The cigarette between her lips kept burning down to ash...

"Hey, brat, what were you doing just now?"

Dadan demanded ferociously, her hideous expression enough to stop a child from crying.

"I just went to pee, but then I got lost. It took me forever to get back."

Luffy answered with a smile. As he spoke, he shaded his eyes with a hand and looked around, as though searching for something.

"Your grandpa has already left."

Dadan blew out a smoke ring as she spoke.

"Huh?! Then how am I supposed to get back to Foosha Village?!"

Luffy pouted, looking thoroughly aggrieved.

"Well... here's the situation. That unreliable grandpa of yours left you with me. From now on, you'd better do as I say. All the chores around here are your job now. Got that, brat?"

Dadan answered Luffy's question and threw in a few demands she would be making as his foster mother. Her tone, however, held far more menace than affection, and was positively full of threats.

But Luffy did not seem particularly impressed. His aggrieved expression gave way to a smug look
