Elsewhere, Nightin pushed up her glasses with her little finger and spoke.
"His fighting strength hasn't declined at all. It seems those ten years in Impel Down didn't dull World's edge."
Sebastian, who was carrying them, wore a much simpler expression-a mixture of awe and admiration.
"Honestly..."
There was even a trace of excitement in his voice.
Onshore, however, the new members of the World Pirates stared at the powerful man before them and the burning ship in the distance. Their expressions held no admiration, only terror...
"He's overwhelming..."
"That's insane! He even sent his own comrades flying!"
World turned his head toward the new recruits and delivered his first lecture as their captain.
"Listen up, recruits! This is what happens to anyone who disobeys my orders! Remember that!"
World's tone was forceful, but someone among the "recruits" still spoke up.
"Weren't those people following your orders and risking their lives for you? Why did you attack them too...?"
"They were too slow."
As though discussing something utterly trivial, World took a few walnuts from inside his clothes and rolled them around in his hand.
Then he continued.
"I won't tolerate even a second's delay in carrying out my orders!"
"And I'll personally send anyone who's late to their grave!"
As he spoke, he clenched the hand rolling the walnuts, instantly crushing their hard shells.
His expression grew colder as merciless words continued to spill from his mouth.
"If you're going to fight for me, you'd better be ready to die for me at any moment. Otherwise, get out of my sight right this instant!"
Then he casually tossed the walnuts into his mouth, shattered shells and all.
Looking at World's face, so dark it seemed water might drip from it, some of the "recruits" broke into a cold sweat.
