Barn joined Ace in pursuing Teach, then reunited with Luffy and became involved in Crocodile’s plot to seize Alabasta. After Crocodile’s defeat and the end of the civil war, Vivi chose to leave with Barn and become a free pirate.

• Barn and Dragon uncovered Zephyr’s plan for the Primordial Stones, and Barn sent the Revolutionary Army and FFF Guild to find and protect them before agreeing to help Ace pursue Teach.
• Ace and Barn reached Alabasta, where Ace reunited with Luffy and invited the Straw Hats to join the Whitebeard Pirates before Barn rejoined Luffy’s crew in the desert.
• Barn defeated Zoro in a duel and later confronted Crocodile at Rainbase, where Crocodile revealed his plan to find Pluton and take over Alabasta.
• Barn recruited several Baroque Works agents, exposed Mr. 2 as the false Cobra, and helped Koza learn that Crocodile was manipulating the conflict between the Royal Army and the rebels.
• As the armies marched on Alubarna, Barn and Koza confronted Crocodile, while Vivi tried to stop the fighting and Luffy arrived to take on Crocodile.
• Barn hurled the timed bomb clear of Alubarna and used his Conqueror’s Haki to end the battle, then helped Luffy defeat Crocodile and escape the collapsing royal tomb.
• With rain returning and the war over, Smoker concealed Barn’s presence, Crocodile was sent to Impel Down, and Barn invited Robin to join him, but she declined.
• Vivi said goodbye to the Straw Hats, then chose to join Barn as a free pirate, and Barn brought her and Black Duck aboard with Fitz and Laboon.

Barn and the Straw Hats pursued the Log Pose’s route to Sky Island, joined forces with Cricket and the Saruyama Alliance, and rode the Knock Up Stream into the sky. On Sky Island, Barn and Golden Lion became involved in the Shandia’s fight against Enel as Robin uncovered clues to Shandora’s lost gold.

• Robin revealed herself aboard the Going Merry and joined Luffy’s crew, while Barn and Vivi reunited with them and the crew learned that the Log Pose pointed toward Sky Island.
• The crew traveled to Mock Town, where Barn confronted Bellamy and reunited with Teach before leading Luffy to Mont Blanc Cricket.
• Cricket explained the Knock Up Stream and asked the crew to catch a South Bird, but Bellamy attacked him and alerted the Marines to Barn’s presence.
• Barn and the Straw Hats fought off the Marine bombardment as the others escaped, then the Going Merry rode the Knock Up Stream into the sky.
• The crew reached Sky Island aboard an Express Shrimp, while Barn left them to meet Golden Lion and seek the Thunder God’s Heart.
• Barn and Golden Lion met Wyper and the Shandia, and Barn told them they should reclaim Jaya from Enel before returning to the Blue Sea.
• On God’s Island, Barn defeated Asura, but Enel struck Barn and Golden Lion with lightning before escaping as Robin found Shandora’s Poneglyph and clues that its gold had been moved.

Barn helped defeat Enel and save Sky Island, then pursued Kizaru over Fisher Tiger’s death and escaped Marine Headquarters. As war gathered around Ace, Barn made plans with Shanks and Dragon, settled matters with Rayleigh, and traveled to Wano Country.

• Conis warned the people of Angel Island to flee as Enel began destroying Sky Island, while Barn and the others confronted him in Shandora.
• Barn and Luffy fought Enel, and Luffy used the Golden Bell to destroy Raigo and ring the bell, revealing the City of Gold to Sky Island and Cricket.
• Barn tore out Enel’s heart and placed it in his own chest, then revived with his sight restored and helped Robin discover Roger’s message beneath the Poneglyph.
• After leaving Sky Island, Barn learned Kizaru had killed Fisher Tiger and attacked Marine Headquarters when Sengoku refused to hand Kizaru over.
• Barn fought Garp, Sengoku, Kizaru, Akainu, and Baldhead, then escaped into the sea and reunited with Laboon after striking Mary Geoise with lightning.
• Barn met Whitebeard and Shanks, warned them that Ace could spark a war, and asked Shanks to help Whitebeard’s crew retreat when the fighting ended.
• Barn urged Dragon to use the Navy’s distraction to attack World Government countries, then told Rayleigh he wanted to visit Wano Country and make up for a regret.
• Barn sent warnings about the coming war through the FFF Guild, witnessed Adam propose to Lia, and traveled to Wano Country, where armed locals demanded to know who he was.

Barn traveled to Wano, where he helped Kozuki Oden and learned more about Roger’s journey, then continued to Thriller Bark to find Brook and Ryuma’s stolen remains. Moria stole Barn’s shadow and used Luffy’s shadow to awaken Oars, but Barn reunited with the Straw Hats and joined their battle as dawn approached.

• Barn met Kozuki Oden in Wano and agreed to help him in exchange for information about Roger, then fought Masaki and accepted Oden’s request to return Ryuma’s remains.
• Barn found Brook on Thriller Bark, helped him defeat Ryuma, and lost his shadow when Moria captured him.
• Barn’s shadow revived Zephyr, who fought Moria and Oars before confronting Barn and learning that Kazaan had taken control of Barn’s body.
• Barn reunited with the Straw Hats and Brook, brought Laboon to meet Brook, and organized a raid to reclaim their shadows before dawn.
• Barn fought Zephyr and used Indra Heaven to destroy his body, then imprisoned Kazaan within his inner world.
• Barn and the Straw Hats battled Oars, identified his injured left arm and knee as weaknesses, and Barn cut off his left arm.
• Moria used Shadow Revolution to restore Oars’s arm and give him Luffy’s stretching abilities, while Brook brought salt to help purify Oars before the crew’s final assault.
