"I'm done eating. If we're training this afternoon, I'll teach you properly." Indra treated Uchiha Tajima entirely as a junior-and an unpromising one at that. He glanced at the men behind him and continued, "They can join us too."
Uchiha Tajima: !!! He's turning the whole hierarchy upside down!
The elders: ... Even our own brats seem adorable now.
Madara Uchiha: ??? Is this my older brother or Father's older brother?
"Outrageous! You have no respect for your elders!"
The Second Elder froze for only a moment before fury shot straight to his head. In all his years, he had never suffered such humiliation, much less from a junior.
He immediately attacked Indra from behind, intent on teaching him a lesson.
Madara Uchiha had just stepped forward when Uchiha Tajima pulled him aside, well away from the others.
"Madara, watch closely. Some people are born to fight."
Uchiha Tajima would never admit that he was afraid of embarrassing himself in front of everyone. He had endured every kind of humiliation during his half-month recovery in Asagiri Town.
He could not be the only one to suffer such humiliation.
Faced with the unfilial descendant charging at him, Indra swiftly dodged. Compared with the other unfilial descendants he had faced, this one clearly had more combat experience. He would have to take him a little more seriously.
Several of the Second Elder's attacks were effortlessly dodged, all with that same dismissive attitude. Nearly exploding with anger, the Second Elder roared, "You coward, too afraid to face me head-on! Today, I'll show you the power of the Uchiha!"
Seeing this, Madara Uchiha threw his own sword over. Indra was his brother, after all. He could not let anyone look down on him on his first day home.
Indra turned slightly and caught the tachi as it passed him. His dark red three-tomoe Sharingan began to spin, and he snorted. "As you wish."
The Lightning Release chakra surrounding him turned into lightning as he flashed directly in front of the Second Elder and met his eyes. In the instant the Second Elder hesitated, the tanto in his hand was already slicing toward the man's throat.
Bang!
The Fourth Elder instantly appeared beside the Second Elder, blocking the blade with a shuriken. He pulled the Second Elder away at tremendous speed and swiftly broke him free of the genjutsu.
Still shaken, the Second Elder suddenly felt a sense of foreboding. He shoved the Fourth Elder away, and the two dodged in opposite directions.
Indra stood atop the blue ring of light that appeared beneath their feet.
But it did not end there. At the spots where the Fourth and Second Elders landed, two Indras appeared, each wielding a tachi and slashing down at their faces.
He held an enormous grudge against these unfilial descendants. They dragged down his intelligence, and they bore half the responsibility for the eventual Uchiha Clan Massacre.
Though he did not know whose descendants had produced that wonderfully "filial" son, Uchiha Itachi, and that moron, Obito Uchiha.
He absolutely refused to acknowledge them as his descendants. It had to be the result of Asura's blood getting mixed in.
"So this is my older brother's strength? I really want to fight him." Watching the battle, Madara Uchiha could barely contain himself, his blood stirring with excitement. As expected, his brothers were all strong.
Uchiha Tajima glanced at Madara Uchiha, wanting to speak but holding back. In the end, his expression turned sympathetic. What little fatherly love he possessed clamored for him to offer a warning. "Madara, try to ask him to train with you when he's in a good mood."
But Madara Uchiha did not take in a word of it. He remembered only the last few words-ask him to train.
Indra had no intention of letting either man off. He chased them down and kept attacking. Within minutes, both elders had sustained injuries.
When it came to constructing genjutsu, both the Second and Fourth Elders freely conceded his superiority.
The Uchiha had always admired strength. They never made excuses for their defeats.
At the same time, they were shocked by the combat experience of Uchiha Tajima's mixed-blood son. Every time, he calculated precisely where they would land. It was practically the same as waiting for them to throw themselves onto his blade.
There was probably no one his age who could match him.
No, even among adults, few could match him as long as he was not surrounded and overwhelmed.
Such combat experience could only be gained through life-and-death struggles.
"Boy, you're quite strong."
The Fourth Elder began to appreciate the son Uchiha Tajima had fathered through his fooling around outside the clan. Though his bloodline was impure, he was talented, powerful, experienced in battle, and steady under pressure.
"If you... Shhk!"
A tachi pierced him beneath the ribs. His pupils widened, and he turned his head in shock to find Indra standing expressionlessly behind him. The Indra in front of him had already disappeared.
What kind of grudge did he hold? He had never imagined that a fellow Uchiha, a junior at that, would actually stab him.
What baffled him even more was that the Second Elder had provoked Indra first, yet he was the one who had been stabbed.
The spectators were just as shocked.
"Stop!"
Uchiha Tajima was so alarmed that his Sharingan activated. He knew his eldest son had little affection for the Uchiha and had turned the family hierarchy upside down, but he had never imagined the boy would kill someone in full view of everyone.
Indra unhurriedly withdrew his blade, and the Fourth Elder toppled stiffly to the ground. Using the bloodied blade, Indra hooked the Fourth Elder's ninja tool pouch off him, took out his wallet, and put it in his own ninja tool pouch. Then he pulled out a healing talisman and flicked it onto the Fourth Elder's forehead.
He had learned this from his father, the Sage of Six Paths. After all, without inheriting Six Paths Power, he could not rapidly heal his own injuries the way Asura could.
In the blink of an eye, the Fourth Elder's wound healed without leaving so much as a scar.
When the Fourth Elder sat up, he was utterly dazed. The same question still occupied his mind, and he blurted it out. "The Second Elder attacked you first. Why did you stab me instead of him?"
"Hmm?" Indra paused on his way toward Madara Uchiha, blade in hand. Turning his head slightly, he earnestly cleared up his unfilial descendant's confusion. "He can't afford the medical fees. Unfilial descendants-not only are you weak, you're poor too."
With that, he handed the blade to Madara Uchiha, then took out a money pouch and tossed it into his arms. "Your share of the loot."
Money supposedly brought people closer together. Rather than give him something he liked, it was better to let him buy it himself.
"Huh?" Madara Uchiha held the bloodied blade in one hand and the money pouch previously stolen from a clansman in the other, at a loss. Watching his big brother vanish with the Body Flicker Technique, he slipped away to chase after him while his father and the elders were not looking.
Meanwhile, the Second Elder stared blankly at Uchiha Tajima, his face stiff. Through gritted teeth, he demanded, "What does your son mean by that? Is he lecturing me like I'm his son? Uchiha Tajima, your son is humiliating me!!!"
The First and Third Elders, who had not joined the fight, looked at the sky and the ground-anywhere but at the embarrassed men. Every so often, they turned away to snicker, then turned back wearing the standard icy Uchiha expression.
"Ahem, ahem. He humiliates even me, the clan leader. Why would he spare you?" Uchiha Tajima was in an excellent mood. At last, this humiliation was no longer his alone to bear.
The Fourth Elder examined the spot where he had been stabbed, then felt for his missing wallet. After a brief pang over the loss, he regained his composure.
"Clan leader, do you know what Xia just used to heal my wound? In an instant, I felt completely healed. It didn't even leave a scar."
Uchiha Tajima looked at the Fourth Elder and abruptly fell silent. He had spent over half a month recovering from his injuries in Asagiri Town, yet that unfilial son had never given him anything like this.
He must be hoping I'll die sooner!
"Tajima, you said earlier... that you spent half a month recovering near Asagiri Mountain, didn't you? That child didn't use this healing method on you, did he?"
Though the First Elder was asking Uchiha Tajima a question, his tone was certain.
